I thought I would start this thread to complement the Zoe one.
My cheapskate red Tekna looks quite sporty with its black wheels (!)

Not done anything other than set it up yet but on collection the fittings for a drivers mat were in the footwell, the mat having been removed ? the hifi was set to the rear nearside speaker giving the salesman a fright he thought it was broke - the rear speakers are pretty crap. The cover for the carwings card was left off but apart from that it was perfect.

Trip to Cheshire Oaks later with family will be first run but initial thoughts are its not as "nippy" as a Zoe but it is quieter and smoother.

And the fleet

This is disappointing, I was expecting good things from the Bose sound system

I don't pick mine up till next week as I need my current car for the house move and I really don't want to use the Leaf like a skip!

The Bose isnt bad, but its 90% front speakers and sub - certainly its acceptable.

I thought the music I was listening to on the radio the other day was right up my street until I realised it was playing my spotify playlist from my phone in my jacket pocket.lol Never had Bluetooth capabilities in a car yet.

4 Days in, using the Leaf for all my transport - findings.

The carwings app is rubbish, just got it working yesterday! and it was set up correctly.

Its not as "nippy" as a Zoe but it is faster, the Zoe pick up is more instantaneous

Its huge in the back - loads of leg room, similar to my 760 SWB (amazed)

The telematics are far far from intuitive and I have to resort to google or you tube for many things.

The mile range gauge is rubbish, but the display is great

I miss the quick heat keyfob on the Zoe

The headlights are really good, I thought you could see them from the top of the lens like a old Dolomite but you cant.

More later.

Whoops!!! I got to work this morning and got out and went to lock the car and all I got was a series of beeps. I could not work out what was going on and after 5 min more people started arriving and watching this silly man trying to operate 'that funny car'...

...turns out I had both keys with me and I'd left my jacket in the car so the poor thing was confused as I was trying to lock it with the other key still inside! Doh!!

I do feel some sort of responsibility to make it seem that having an EV is dead easy and not a hassle so when daft things like this happen I felt under pressure lol!

In other news how is everyone getting on with their commute ranges on motorways? I'm trying to keep it on cruise control between 65-70mph and my range-o-meter never gets above 86miles when it's fully charged, I'm guessing because most of my 12 mile commute is at 55mph+

The battery percentage readout is a much better indicator than the guessometer I feel. I now look at that all the time rather than the range numbers as they yo yo so much depending on your driving style.

Yeah that does seem to be better as I was able to drive 8 miles without the 'losing' any miles from the estimated range...

But I am using 20% per 10-12 miles which doesn't take a maths genius to work out that I won't get 100miles from 100%!

But it was only 2 degrees this morning so cold battery and I'm keeping up with traffic at 70mph for 9 miles of my 11 mile commute so I guess it's not the easiest journey type for my Leaf!

I use about 10% for my 8 miles in the morning , maybe about half at 60mph. I have been driving in B mode tough going to test in D mode to see if any difference. I suspect your longer time in 65mph range is eating up battery a bit more

Is 3.9 Miles per KW attainable ? got to 3.8 driving like I dont want to repeat but is a sadder slower driver (smoother perhaps) out there.

I'm at 4.0 m/kWh after having my leaf for 3 weeks now and I'm not exactly hanging about.

I averaged 4.4 mile over first 300 miles...

On another note, the Leaf transport my pedal bike much better than my pervious E90 3 series BMW....Not that interested in saving the planet, but a weekend of travel/entertainment sorted, with no tail pipe emissions or the need to go any where near a petrol station smile

Picked mine up last Thursday, still getting used to it, it's so different to my last car, so good, some bad.

I've never had a brand new car before, which is lovely, but I worry about where I park and how I use it far more than I have with any other car.

reversing camera is great, but I wish there were beeps too
One touch window is only on drivers opening, I want to close all the windows much quickers!
Sound system is disappointing, not convinced the sub offers anything
Can't quite get comfy in the drivers seat yet
Touchscreens are a real distraction when driving nono
My kids think it's a toy, my 8 year old son reckons he could drive it easily
The range indicator is just annoying, it can drop 15 miles in about 3 real miles on my journey
I really must stop worrying about economy, it's so cheap to run and easy to charge but I want maximum miles per charge.

I think I like it, I've just got to get used to it!

Re. the apparently disappointing hi-fi

Turn up the bass and treble to max, I know it's not what I would usually do either but it sounds pretty good from a decent source when you do this!

Top Tip for those using the range "guesstimater" have the batt power display in the dash and use that, its much more accurate!
