BMW 330e ordered...

Could be similar to mine. Started in e drive but had an error when it went to switch on the engine, engine would then start a few seconds later but e-drive would not work at all after the engine started.
Had that from day one and took it in last Thursday to be diagnosed and resolved. Got the car back Tuesday

Which dealership was this? I'd be a bit concerned I'm being handed a car where one of the main components isn't working.

I must say I am a bit too excited, sold my E60 and have been driving a Prius as a temporary replacement. So, even though I am extremely concerned, but, driving the prius is too much of a punishment, hence picked up the 3/4 car anyways
(without the edrive it is apprx 3/4 of the total hp). It is fast even without the eDrive, but, looking at the bright side I will be able to break in the engine properly. I was planning on forcing ICE anyways for the first 1000 KM or so.Will be posting pics later.

I placed an order when the original lease deals came out in December, only to have my order cancelled. I reordered in Jan with an estimated delivery date in September.
Just had an email saying I should have a confirmed delivery date on Monday. I suspect it might have slipped from September again, we shall see!

well had my 330e m sport three weeks lovely car to drive, really quick and responsive was made up ,until yesterday on way to work pulling out at busy T junction needing speed to pull out car gave a shudder and warning light came on causing car to go into limp mode with drive train malfunction on display? car then went down to 5 mile per hour scary when you have a queue of commuters behind you and causing tailback, I pulled of the road turned the car off and then restarted and it was ok back to normal , I thought it would be better to take car to BMW who sorted me a hire car out but have been on the phone to me asking was it in electric mode or petrol when it happened? I presume it was petrol as was in save mode, further call today have I fitted a camera to the car from BMW? err no car has only covered 339 miles and owned for 20 days or so ? Baffling

Todays plan was to keep driving for a few hundred km to see if the edrive comes online. After 100 took a break it was still not online, after 200 km took another break, and just like magic after the break i had edrive.I must say I am a bit too excited, sold my E60 and have been driving a Prius as a temporary replacement. I too had a previous cancelled order when Select messed up, so originally ordered a 330e in December, but not wanting to stomach the additional £950 that GB Vehicle contracts wanted this second one is now cancelled.

Hi Darren, I had the exact same problem a couple of months ago. Mine was in the garage for 8 days and had to get a software update from Germany seemingly! If your dealer contacts the service department at BMW Newbridge, Edinburgh they should be able to help. Cheers

Update: the eDrive seems doing ok. Full charge range showing around 45km. Range not verified yet. Power seems good. However, have a question mine when unlocking sometimes makes some weird noise, anybody else has it? Sounds like some metal scratching or so.

Good tip for those just receiving their cars - For overtaking hold the down paddle for 2 seconds, the car automatically choses the best gear and you are off like a rocket, rather than you having to go down yourself from 6 to 3 for example hunting for the best gear

Just the down gear shift paddle on the rear left of the sterling wheel.If you are driving along in 6th gear for example and need to overtake, pull it towards you and hold it for a couple of seconds and it will automatically select 2nd gear for example and match the perfect revs for you to overtake with instant power.

Thanks for the update my car is still in BMW Preston its gone from car has had a software update and just waiting on BMW to give the okay before I could collect that was yesterday I expected the car back today but was told that BMW wanted to investigate more as to why this has happened? so its still with them , I have been given a 520d m sport but its nothing on the 330e economy and power , just want my car back , I will pass this information back to them tomorrow and see if it helps

Can you put the car in 'manual' mode and use the paddles to manually select gears? ie so that coming in to a corner you can down shift?
