Hi, I am new here I had 330e for a week now very pleased with it. If you guys can help me with a small issue. As in the attached photo air distribution settings are different from driver to passenger side. In the display screen driver side is showing 3 directional lights and passenger one has 2 lights. Even after pressing the button passenger side never gets to 3 lights.

Can anyone confirm if this is an issue with my car or meant to be like this...thanks
Mine is the same. I believe it is to make sure the driver has control of defogging.

Looking for some advice on snow driving. This is my first BMW and need some advice on how to approach snow driving. If I go for winter tyres, are they worth it, any particular type and what about socks?

Anyone with experience want to share any tips for the winter?

Thanks
Chris
Canadian here so I'll offer up my 2c worth,,,what's that about 1p? I was a bit apprehensive of buying a rear wheel drive car in our climate. My company car is a Subaru so I had a backup in really bad weather.

Winter tires are a must! There is a misconception out there that they are only for snow. They are for any temperature below 7 degrees C. The performance differences are huge and cannot be understated even on dry pavement. The real cost of winter tires is minimal as your summer are sitting idle not wearing at all. The Pirelli Sottozero 3 runflats are amazing and quiet.

I just took the car on a 3000km trip to Wisconsin and back before Christmas through 50cm of snow over 3 days. Surprise surprise the car barely even noticed. We were comfortably able to drive normally, especially on highways. The only time the car gets a bit squirrely is from a dead stop up a grade on ice: I turn the traction control off. One of the most amusing parts of the trip was to drive around the 4wd vehicles that had all season tires on.

Another misnomer is that 4wd/awd makes you safer. The only cars I have ever buried in a snowbank or ditch have been 4wd/awd. It is too easy to add more speed than the brakes can handle, often without any hints from the car. The 330e actually gives feedback when the road gets really slippery with a slight twitch or a momentary activation of the traction control. I actually found that it would occasionally do this on the highway which was very helpful.

Other things that I have found:

1. Precondition is a gift from the gods! Heated steering wheels should be in every car.

2. When it is extremely cold (below -20C) electric driving is not possible until the battery has been churned a bit with charge/discharge cycles.

3. Headlights need to be adjusted upwards from factory settings. I think this is an across the board issue with BMWs. I have the LED

4. Coolant low happened early in the car's life. Topping up was required.

I'll stop now or the UK tax man will come looking smile

Oh dear, it was all going so well but I have a smell of burning, a charging fault and only low power electric 'go'. The cooling system fan (presumably for the electric motor) is also going mad after only short journeys. Let's see what the nice man from BMW Emergency Services thinks but I suspect he's not going to mend it at the roadside...
So any news? How many miles have you done in it?
So I heard back from BMW yesterday. The low temperature cooling circuit for the electrics had drained empty through a leaking radiator. The radiator is being replaced under warranty and there is a software enhancement to provide a low coolant warning for the circuit as no warning was triggered on my car.

The car has done 15500m and was delivered in March 16.

So far I've been really impressed with BMW Assist and Sytner High Wycombe.

Yep. Sits at about 100 degrees. I note that in our X3 (diesel of course) the mid-point is 100 degrees. Guess a diesel is expected to run cooler (?) but that does sit at 100 degrees too. Maybe if you really press on it will go higher? Haven't done that yet in mine as still running in (and I'm tracking how many miles I run on petrol so I can run the engine for 1300 miles, which I assume to be ideal for running in).
BMW water temp gauges are generally dampened to show a normal operating temp while the actual engine temp could easily be +/- 10 degrees C. I wouldn't read too much into the exact temp displayed; the gauge is one step above a simple set of idiot lights for cold, normal and too hot.

On the 330e it's an oil temp gauge, not water, so it will vary depending on how hard you're pushing.

Hope someone can help? I am after a dog cage for the back seat .Was going to use a seat cover but want my dog to be secure on the back seat and thought cage would be better.
My dog is only westie size so nothing too big needed.
Anyone know of anything? I've Google but to no avail.

You might be better off posting in a pure 3 series forum instead of the small subpopulation that has the PHEV version? There's no difference in the rear bench between models. Or try a safety belt and harness http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/dog-seat-be...

Got the car back and it's all fixed - a new low temperature radiator and a software enhancement has sorted it - all under warranty. I have to say it's so nice to get out of the 320d M Sport that I had as a courtesy car, the stop start is so tiring around town and the engine is noisy and so unrefined in comparison. It just brought home how smooth, fast and effortless the 330e is in comparison.

EDIT: Since the software update the car seems to regenerate harder, have more range from a fully charged battery and as others with more recent cars have noticed, SAVE mode will charge well beyond 50% (up to 90%?).

Just ordered mine yesterday - Alpine White M Sport with the 19" 403M wheels and comfort pack. Been told delivery by the end of March which I was surprised by after hearing some of the lead times on here.

Can't wait, going to be quite a different driving experience from my 118D!

Not as standard, no. Optional extra and also as part of the comfort package. At least it was when I ordered mine.

Was the increase in battery range significant humpy999?

Heated steering wheel is actually the best thing in the comfort package (along with split folding rear seats unless they're standard now)

Yes I think it is, Regularly get 16 miles quoted instead of 14 on a full charge and on my trip to work it will regularly regenerate enough for a couple of extra miles than before.

Hi

About to order 330e Sport- and was wondering whether this has the nice corona lights as standard or whether it is an option?

"Spec says LED daytime lights included" but not sure whether this is corona or not?

Also are their any other options I should consider

Sorry - misread your post - the Sport doesn't come with corona lights unless you spec the LED or adaptive lights. The MSport comes with LED lights (and corona) as standard.
