£284pm is very cheap

Think lease prices are around the £550-600 mark now

Yeah the 330e only really works in terms of mpg if you have a local commute. We commute a total of 14 miles per day & charge every night, so drive almost totally on electric. However the temptation to boot it does mean it does click over to petrol occasionally ;-)

If anyone is doing longer drives then, other than the BIK saving, it may not be the car for you - mpg drops to the low 30s & because of the small tank you fill up fairly often (& it also gives the impression you are getting really low MPG as the needle on the dial heads left!).

There's no doubt it's a great car with exciting technology - it's also fast & fun to drive. However there are limitations (especially as the boot is so small that a roofbox is almost a necessity for lugging around more than a couple of suitcases!).
I am hoping one of these will be within my budget for when my C Class diesel goes back at the end of the year, I like 13 miles from work (about 10 miles motorway) and do small amounts of personal mileage nowadays generally speaking and almost zero business mileage. I have a fuel card and personal milage is included (costing me about £150 in tax per month BIK I reckon). Generally speaking I drive pretty conservatively. There are a couple of guys with PHEVs at work but no charging point, although if not expensive we could possibly suggest one.

Am I likely to be wise to go for this if on budget and presumably I would be better off opting out of fuel benefit if I did?

Thanks

FWIW I did a couple long trips lately and averaged 51mpg on both. One was Bristol to Peak district and back, then Bristol to Goodwood and back. Started charged on both, heavy traffic through Birmingham actually upped by mpg.

90% of my journeys are >30 miles though, where I average 120-140mpg.

Fuel bik @ 40% is currently about £50 a month, £600pa for a 330e although it will obviously increase. But it will still be a steal, the 330e was made for cc drivers with private fuel included, even at a pretty low mileage.

Mines a CC, no fuel tho.. But I got mine as it was very low BIK and the most powerful car available to me. Fuel was kind of a second thought as I only do a max 20k miles and fuel is still cheap

Thanks, so would I be better off opting out or staying in when it comes to fuel do you think?

Well the fuel bik deducted @ 40% just now, £50, equates to app one full tank of fuel a month so check what your usage will be approx. Next tax year will be around £64 a month tax on private fuel.

Right, thanks. I wasn't aware that the bik for fuel was linked to the car, thought that was a flat rate regardless of motor. Thought the reduction in tax was only for the emissions of the car. That makes it absolutely defiantly I remain "in" then. Thanks.

Just ordered mine, £301/month on our company plan, which is unlimited mileage (well, if you do 150k miles you have to give it back), all servicing, tires, insurance and BIK on a 2 year lease.

330e Sport
Professional Nav
LED headlights
H-K stereo
Heated seats
Lumbar support

Hoping to hear soon what lead times are like. Went into the local BMW dealership and they said delays have been down to Samsung not being able to fulfill battery demand for the cars at the moment.

Quite chuffed as I nearly went for a 220d coupe, but last week this appeared on our lease scheme.

Does anyone have a definitive cost of charging at home. I know it will depend on what residual charge is remaining, but assuming I'm charging a flat battery, how much will it be? I have seen costs from 60p per charge and up to £1 per charge, but cannot find anything useful on the web. Rolec seem to think that the cost is nearer £1.26, based on a pro-rata cost of what they say it costs to charge a 24kw Nissan Leaf which is £4. I'm trying to get my company to install home chargers but need to put a strong case together to prove that they can save money

I have one of those energy meters and it goes up by about 27p/h when I plug in. It takes about 3-3 1/2 hours to charge from flat on a standard 13amp socket. Only benefit for having the installed charger is the time it takes is reduced, I would imagine the cost to charge is pretty much the same.

It depends on your energy company tariff mostly.

The car battery is just under 8kw so I assume that's what it takes for a full charge..

My energy is 9p per kWh in the day and 4p 9pm-6am so 72p in the day and 32p after 9pm

Thought I would wade in here

Mine is at the dealers and will be delivered on Tuesday after a lot of messing around including the sales guy doing a runner before ordering the car meaning it is 3 months later than planned

It is a company lease car so 4yrs/80k for £559pcm with no deposit

I got carried away so M-sport with the plus pack a few other extras in Tanzanite Blue with Saddle Brown leather.

Is there an idiots guide to running one or is it a case of rtfm?

Have been religiously following this thread for a long time. It was scheduled for delivery today. However, got a call an hour before from the dealer and he mentioned that the edrive is not working hence they cannot deliver it. They are not sure what is the issue. This evening's final update was some engineer was remotely trying to debug the issue but no luck so far. Lets see what is in store for tomorrow.

Have just been recommended by BMW to pick it up. The eDrive is still not working, but, they claim that there was a similar issue, however, the eDrive came online in 250km.

As in it's come online with a 250km drive? or that's what's happened with another customer's?

Which dealership was this? I'd be a bit concerned I'm being handed a car where one of the main components isn't working.
