Thanks for the replies. Being fick I am not sure I follow. At present I get paid £6k pa gross NOT to have a car. They would take that from me and give me any car I want, but of course I have to pay the BIK on it, that's what I'm trying to work out.
Based on a £50k gross salary (actually, that's a wild guess as I'm on some complex project-orientated bonus scheme thing), ComCar.com says £79/month additional tax or £948 per year for having a base 330e. So, I lose £6k (which is £4k after tax anyway), then pay roughly £1k more in tax, so it's costing me about £5k a year out of my pocket to have a new car. Am I right? I then have to pay private mileage but as it's mostly leccy I think I can swizz the accountant into overlooking that bit.
Really not sure it stacks up.

You lose the £6k gross and then pay the tax (£79 a month).
Net income loss is therefore [£6000*6/10] + [£79*12] per annum
= 3600 (car allowance lost net) + 948 (CC tax)
= £4584 pa
= £379 per month
Bear in mind that's all in, insurance, servicing, tyres, brakes etc etc etc etc.
Your right, Foxy. Not the cheapest way (and I lose a lot more than you on the allowance) but it's basically rental of a 330e for £90 a week.
I do 30k a year miles, so renting a 330e M Sport including fuel for £180 a week is a bloody bargain (it's only two tanks of fuel for the 535)

yes Im struggling with spotify too - it sort of works but very glitchy - need to get an iphone I guess
Why do you say glitchy? Mine just does not work. It works perfectly with bluetooth a2dp profile. Where i am allowed to play next or previous song, but cannot use the spotify integration where i can browse and navigate.likhan_s said:

I have the same as you in the sense in connects via bluetooth - but I don't get access to the spotify app through connected driveI wondered if this was because I don't have the professional media and only business.
the glitchy stuff I was referring to was the fact that even through bluetooth the screen freezes everytime I get in the car, i have to open the spotify app on my phone and then it displays the tune I'm playing.
My mate who has an i8 with an iphone 6 says his just connects when he gets in the car and plays from where he got out of the car.
This is my first bmw ( and what a great one to have!) so not sure what is the norm!

I'm due a new company car in March and have been offered this or a fairly well specd 320d.
I do between 2-3000 miles a month, mainly motorway. Of that, 300ish personal miles.
I have a fuel card so all 'personal' mileage is logged and a cheque for the amount paid based on mpg/pence per mile for that month.
40% tax payer
I'll have the car for 6 years.
Having the 'e' would nean a huge saving per month on the 320d but from what I read, a fairly big increase in fuel cost as my journeys are all 300mile return trips with little opportunity for charging at my destination.
Should I go for the 330e or the 320d based on how my pocket will be affected?

i haven't got a posh phone, so I just got a 32gb USB drive for about £8, got all my iTunes put on it and it works just fine. Apparently the SE model that I got does not have the facility to save to a hard drive, so USB was really the best option
Cool, so if i put all my tunes on a usb stick the car will read and play - excellent thanks, I've not found the hard drive either and I have the m sport but not professional media Edited by headjog on Friday 5th August 20:20

Anyone having a problem with trim squeeking! It's doing my head in!!!
I've just started noticing this after a few days holidays around the back roads of Ireland (now a total of 2500 miles on the clock). I spent about 3 hours yesterday blasting around the ring of Kerry and was so impressed with the performance of the car however I have now noticed lots of creaking in the car, I feels like it is coming from the doors, possibly the rubber seals that surround the doors. Its most noticeable at slow speeds on rough roads on electric so it may just be a case of the crap irish roads in some places and the really quiet car?! Perhaps the drone of my previous diesel covered the squeaks before.
anyone else notice this?

I finally received my 330e last Friday, having ordered it in January.
Can anyone tell me what range there car reads on electric when it has been fully charged on a home charge?
I have Rolec non tethered box that speeds up the charging process.
Mine arrived on Tuesday, absolutely love it so far. Just finished charging mine, the app is showing 18 miles worth of charge available. Is it worth getting the Rolec charger? And how much was the cable that was also required? Can anyone tell me what range there car reads on electric when it has been fully charged on a home charge?

I am not sure.Thanks
I have been quoted £60 to fit an outside standard UK socket.
You can get a wallpod unit fitted for £145 (just a unit no cable) and then buy a cable approx. £130 = Total £275
You can get a wallpod unit with tethered cable for £200, but then if you want to charge when you are out and about you still need to buy a cable for charging out and about £350.
I think I am just going to go with a standard outside plug, and hope the BMW cable doesn't break! I asked BMW if the standard cable was covered by warranty. I didn't get any response :-(
Hi All,
Been reading this forum since February like most people.
Car got delivered Friday from GB Vehicle Contracts, they did put my price up but decided to go ahead anyway.
The car is fantastic like everyone has said, i covered 400 miles over the weekend and really put the car to the test. All weekend i averaged around 22.4mpg so it wasn't light driving. From a performance point of view the car is fantastic, keeps going well above its quoted top speed in both modes and fantastic off the start line.
I work 2 miles from home so perfect for my daily commute, used 14% battery this morning in max battery mode, but again it wasn't a slow drive to work.I find that at 50mph it charges around 3-4% per minute, so can easily top the battery's up while you drive. Again it seems to loose around 2% per minute, going up steep hills or over 50mph on electric really drains the battery though.
One thing im having issues with is the connected drive, BMW are saying the issues are worldwide right now, can anyone let me know if theres is currently working or not.
Nish

Hi Nish, just had my 330e Sport delivered today and I am in awe. I'm a bit confused on the connected drive stuff though, can you help?Been reading this forum since February like most people.

Which app on phone do you use, I have two ,one called "Connected" the other "Remote" both seem flaky to me and the "connected app" doesn't seem to find my car half the time. It also lost my registered car online now and I need to reactivate but no messages are coming through to my Connected Drive with the pin no so I am stuck.
So any help with this would be handy.
Thanks
Chris
