£150 is just for the charge point box and no lead.

With a tethered lead it is £200

With a wall box and separate type 2 lead your looking more at £300

I'm having an outside socket put in for £60

On a full over night charge my new 330e shows between 17-19 miles, I was lead to believe a full charge was 25 miles.

Anyone seeing similar figures on a full charge ?
Cheers

Mine usually shows 18 miles on a full charge although I have occasionally seen 21. Just to help me understand my costs I bought an energy meter which indicates a full charge from virtually zero is about 75pence at 11p per kwh.

Just been specifying an m sport and it will cost me £27 per month out of my own pocket.
Adding HK takes it too 48 extra or m sport + requires £68 per month.
Metallic paint doesn't add any extra contribution from myself as per lease company instructions.

No sure what to do as more I add the less I am saving which is the main point of going for the 330e! is the HK really worth it?

Or I might just go for split seats and the cheap upgrading alloys option as they do suit the car.

Sounds about right, I work on electric being about 1/4 the cost of fuel when charging at home

You're welcome. As I said, I will check this evening on my drive home.
I have tried a standing start (not using Launch Control) In Sport and Sport+ and the car definitely takes off in electric mode but the petrol quickly kicks in. I also recall being in sport while coasting downhill where the engine turned off. I think it depends on how you're driving the car. If you want performance then it will always switch to petrol.
Rob/anyone.. Have you managed to get the launch control working??
On any regular F30 from what i understand launch control is standard, once the car is up to temperaure, put it into Sport plus, flick gearbox to the left into 'S', foot on the break and as you hit the accelerator the car should hold and rev (as if it was in neutral), a little flag appears on the dash, release the brake and the car goes.

Ive tried on my 330e, and after you hold the brake and begin to hit the accelerator, the car lurches a little, there seems to be no sign of the launch control kicking in? Is it possible it has be removed from the 330e?

That's interesting. I didn't know they had LC at all. I'll give it a go in mine soon. They could have left it off because of the motors doing a lot of the braking maybe? I just did a quick google and a few threads talk about having to put it into M1 for launch control not S1. Maybe that would work

Afternoon Chaps

Joined as I've found this an excellent resource for all things 330e!

My main appeal to the 330e is its BIK rate, Having gone through 320d Xdrive Touring, 520/530d its starts to add up. Placed an order last week for one hopefully for delivery week 50

Spec as follows:-
Glacier Silver with BMW Individual Black Merino Leather
19" Bicolour Orbit Wheels
M Sport Plus Pack, Active Security Pack, Advanced Parking Pack, Interior Comfort Pack and Professional Plus

Also added Enhanced Bluetooth/Wireless Charging, Electric Sunroof, Electric Seats and Lumbar, BMW Icons LED Adaptive, Headlight Wash, Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Surround View, Speed Limit and TV!

May aswell load it up at 7%

Ive got one on demo for the next 4-5 days, takes some getting used to no noise!
Will look to add a charge point down the side of my house I think

Keep the photos coming!

Not tried it on mine yet but there are some YouTube videos of how it's done on a 330d. I'm not sure if it's available on a 330e

Can someone help with tax? My annual salary is £42500, the comcar calculator works out my monthly car tax at 40% tax rate but I thought higher tax rate earners started at £43000(Inc personal allowance)? Is it taking the bik away?
I can earn a bonus in April which will take me over but that isn't always guaranteed. I am trying to work out how much tax I'll be paying with different car options but struggling

I get similar figures, 17 - 21. I think it must be calculating the figures from your driving style history. The real life figure is nearer to 14 - 15 miles actually and that's not being heavy footed. Your right foot can make quite a difference to your economy figures. My 140 motorway journey at 75mph costs me £13 but if I up it to 85mph it's nearer £20 in fuel..

I am not an expert by any means and stand to be corrected but the way I was advised to calculate it by a financial planner was to start with the tax free allowance which is £11,000 and then deduct any benefits which attract BIK payments, eg if your car costs £35k the BIK at 7% is £2,450 which is deducted from your personal allowance giving £8,550 which is then your new nil rate band, ie the starting point at which you pay tax. You can then earn an additional £32k at 20% tax which means that you don't start paying 40% tax until £40,550, but even then you will only pay tax at 40% on salary above £40,550 so on £1,950.

This is a very simple way of looking at as it changes depending if you make any personal contribution towards the car.

In my case the car has a P11D value of £39,935 giving a BIK of £2,795 but as I contribute £97 per month this gets added back reducing the car benefit to £1,778 - not exactly sure how that works out but that is what it says on my new tax code which I received today advising that I am going from a code of 439L (on a £34k 520D SE 127 gm per km) to 939L (on my 330 MSport 49 gm per km). The bottom line is that I earn an extra £5,000 p.a. before I start paying tax - happy days! Obviously as the tax rate rises over the next few years I will see this benefit reduce although hopefully the nil rate will increase to offset it a bit.

As I said I am not an expert but this calculation has worked for me as I guesstimated that I would see a significant improvement in my tax code, not had a payday yet but I am not expecting my payroll to get it sorted in time for my August salary!!

Hope that helps as a starting point.

It's a fairly easy calculation and your accountant will give you exact figures based on all your income. I'd work out figures for both 20 and 40% for a good comparison if in any doubt.
The tax you will pay is based on the official price of the car (called the 'P11D'), and the percentage being primarily determined by the car's CO2 emissions.
For a 330e, for this financial year it is 7%
So if your P11D price, plus all options is £35K, your tax is £35K x 7% = £2,450 x 20% = £490 per year or £40,83 per month.
If you're a 40% tax payer this figure doubles (£35K x 7% = £2,450 x 40% = £980 per year or £81.67 per month)

You'll also pay BIK tax on any fuel your company provides for personal millage, but that's based on another figure of £22,200 (Same calculations exist)

If you own the company, you will also benefit from the 100% taxable allowance against your corporation tax (currently 20%) so that's another £7,000 saving in the first year of ownership. Plus, if you ordered the car before the 29th February deadline, you would of also qualified for the government Plug-In car grant of £5,000 (currently £2,500) so quite a saving against the list price.
Hope this helps
