Spoke to BMW the other day with an update ( ordered early October) to be told that my supplier Tusker had asked them to hold back on the build to coinside when my car I have now goes back at the beginning of May. I did say to Tusker that if it were ready for the beginning or mid March, that we could discuss me paying out my exsisting lease, looks like that hasn't happened.
Anyway, I've been told by BMW that I've got a March build date with it reaching the dealership in and around April ( 35 mile trip out to see my new baby before I get it) which hopefully be ready for my early May changeover.
Ive added a fair few options but I've not added the sun protection glass at around £300 so what type or shade of glass will I get ?

pre condition doesn't come on at weekends - BMW assume everyone works M-F.
Interestingly mine continues to precondition using the same departure times at the weekend if I don't disable them. I checked this morning. I did read in one of the notes in the connected drive web portal that it will only go Monday to Friday. Behaviour of mine seems to be different though...

Tried messing with the apps but struggling to find much info about the radio/satnav etc. I have the M Sport + package so HK stereo etc would like to know more about how it integrates (if at all) with iPhones.

Could anybody please point me in the right direction?

Also, there's been a few comments about running it in, it's a 4 year fully maintained lease - do I really need to bother or if I don't will they catch me out with the computer if I have done over the recommended speed/number of revs before the recommended number of miles?

thanks in advance.

I have the M Sport+ pack to and have similar questions, especially as it will have the iDrive 5.0. Was going to just play when it arrives but if anyone does have any info I'd appreciate it too! I'm hoping Spotify integration has improved - CarPlay was not an option when I ordered and wondering if I should had it added.

I don't _know_ but if the manufacturer is asking you to do something then I listen. At the end of the day it's not a huge number of miles, and it only asks you to limit to 4500 RPM - there's plenty of fun to be had even within those limits.

And I think you shouldn't just be thinking about your ownership of the car. I want whoever buys my car in the future to have trouble-free motoring too. You also shouldn't go revving the nuts of it until the engine is warmish either, but that too is a little less important with modern oils.

The computer is certainly capable of logging cases where you've been unkind, but whether it does or not I couldn't say. I'm from an engineering background (not mechanical) but I have little knowledge of the automotive industry.

My two cents'.

For CarPlay I seem to recall you need ProNav

I have business nav and tried Amazon music and the car controls worked e.g. to select next track etc. Assume it's the same for Spotify but dont subscribe. The iPhone needs to be connected by cable for it to work. Edit - if you've got iDrive 5.0 then looks like you can have 5 apps connected wirelessly.

Normal music on the iPhone plays via Bluetooth, and you can use voice control on that with the steering wheel button, but I tend to play music from a USB stick, probably due to a bit of OCDness wanting higher resolution music through the HK system

Just on that a general tip for USB if your music is in iTunes and predominantly apple lossless then the BMW won't play it. I use dbpoweramp to batch convert my apple lossless iTunes to flac, and then SonyMedia Go to copy it to the USB (which is free and you don't need a Sony device). This copies / creates playlist as well as albums. Only snag here is if you copy the music the normal way to the USB with the Add to button it will convert it to a lossy format. Instead right click and hold on the item and drag it to the USB stick. When you drop it a hidden dialogue appears for an advanced menu which allows you to select do not convert.

I'll have to re check mine then. Like you saw the notes in the portal and I checked on a frosty weekend morning that the car was still iced up

Yep I have Pro Nav but to be honest the main reason I might want CarPlay is for Spotify if the car does not play well itself. I want to be able to control my playlists etc and do have a mix of Spotify and iTunes (not the lossless format).

Other use of CarPlay might be if they start to support speed camera apps but doubt that will be any time soon. I assume iDrive 5 still does not allow speed camera alerts?

iDrive 5.0 was available on cars built from July last year I think - it may be available only with Pro Nav - or at least I remember reading it was only then that you get the icon menu display rather than a list. This may just be because of the larger screen estate.

I ordered at the start of Feb (2017) and have been told that expected date for mine is April (just waiting on the exact date).
From others who have ordered last year and are only just getting dates of March April etc, am I likely to see this time delayed or have BMW upped production to better manage the demand over last year?

Long time lurker....picked up my 330e last Friday and more than happy with it....quick question I just got my type 2 to type 2 cable delivered today and have the external 2 hour charger setup at home. I'm going to try precondition tonight and set departure time. Is it possible to have the car/battery preconditioned but also have the charger top the battery backup to 100% prior to departure?

Any help appreciated.

I have a wall charger too and when I pre-condition the battery remains at 100% therefore I assume that the wall charger is doing the pre-conditioning and not the car battery. It might be a bit more technical than that but the end result is a warm car and a full battery! I'm not sure what happens if the battery isn't yet at 100% and you want to pre-condition prior to fully battery charging being complete.

This is already accounted for when pre-conditioning starts. IE if it's got more to do it will start to pre-condition earleir so the charger can top up before your departure time. You do run into problems once it's freezing whereby the vehicle cannot charge as quickly as it needs to warm up, but having a proper wall charger (16A) should alleviate this.

Mine was ordered with lease company late October, received a call from dealer early November confirming the spec etc. and advising of ETA of 3rd week Feb and it gets delivered to me tomorrow so pretty much bang on what they told me.

A comment on charging, at home anyway.

I've had my 330e for a week now, and I am lucky enough to at least have a driveway in front of my house to park and charge it. I've read a lot about the pros and cons of various chargers, tethered, untethered, 16A, 32A, etc.

Well after a week I can definitely say that I will be going tethered! It's only a small thing admittedly, but having to get the charger in and out of the car every evening is a right royal pain in the backside. It will be so much easier just to lift the cable off the charger and plug it in!

Last week when I was off work for a few days, and over the weekend, I had taken to leaving the bundled charger connected on my doorstep so that I could use it effectively tethered. Trouble is that isn't secure and somebody could pinch it. It's locked to the car while charging so that isn't the issue.

I have charged EV coming today to give me a quote. Hopefully that won't be as eye watering as The Phoenix Works who quoted nearly £700 without even coming round to look.

I will report back on the result today.

Mines arrived, chuffed to bits after a quick 10 minute spin.

Can't register on either the BMW Connected or Remote apps, are they included or is there just a problem can anybody advise?

thanks all
