HI All

new to the forum, and have been following this group,

I have had the pleasure of having the 330e m sport now for two 48 hrs test drives and very impressed with it, Drives superb as it would being a 3 series , power is spot and gave a massive surprise to a guy driving a 350z that was up my ass today , switched it into full sport mode and floored it and it was SEE YA !!!!!!

Ive order my now and can not wait for it to arrive first week in june , i have gone for the other 19" wheel option as havent seen many about with these wheels on it, black leather with blue pipping,,

the demo i have had twice now has the oyster leather it lovely but the car has now done 1200 miles and drivers of side seat bolster is allready showing marks trousers ingraining ,

Amazing car i have to give it back again tomorrow one thing as i have the demo car can i still pre condition as i do not have app yet ?


think ill be going off to germany to when it arrives and properly drive it

Yes (if it's not too late ). Pre conditioning is stored in the car and can be set in i-drive. Also when you switch the car off it does show you the pre-condition menu. Just make sure pre condition is on as well as departure timer i.e. Time you plan to drive off in the morning

Other option is a long press on the diamond symbol button on the bottom of the key fob half an hour before you plan to leave (or less if not too cold)

They're obviously not cleaning it properly, because it's actually very easy to clean.

Nice spec! I'll be intrested to hear your feedback on the Piano black trim, once you get the car as I've ordered it too, but without ever seeing in in real.

Update on my install saga!

The Phoenix Works quoted me £650 after the £500 grant because I was deemed to be "non-standard".
ChargedEv have now quoted me £174 after the grant, with a £50 discount but 15m of cable instead of 10m. They even came round to assess the work first, so there should be no issues. It has taken though, two weeks to get them round to do the assessment, over a week to ring me with the quote (and take the payment), and now have to wait until March 24th for the install.

I've ordered a 5m 32A tethered. I'm having to plug and unplug the bundled charger on my doorstep daily. It will be sooooo much easier to just unloop the cable and plug in. If I ever need a cable in the car regularly I will just buy one, However, as yet there has been no opportunity to use one.

I've still not got automatic pre-conditiioning to work! I've tried every setting and combination of settings. In the car, in the app, but yet it's still cold in the morning. It does work if I push the button in the app.

If someone could post a pic of their app settings and car settings that works, I would appreciate it.

I think we need a 330e Wiki somewhere! There probably is one already

Can only do app right now - key thing is to set both pre condition and a timer

Also did you set it in the app only or have you tried in the car at some point - if you change things in the car the app will probably be out of sync. Try changing a value in the app and press send top right, then double check history in the app that it sent OK

The fact that you can start it from the app with the pre-condition now button would seem to mean all permissions for remote access etc. are OK

Yes you are probably right Tony, it's all confused. I've been messing with both now. So mine app looks like yours but at the bottom are two sliders, one says "Charge Immediately" the other says "Tariff Time Slot". I'm on Android BTW. Which one do you use? Logically neither is true!! Strangely when I first tried to set this up neither were ticked but you have to select one or the other to send it.

The other point to note is I have a permanently lit fan symbol on the climate system in the car.

Yes fan light is always on - but flashes when pre-conditioning is on. I'm on iOS and sorry there are the 2 charge choices if I scroll down - mine is set to charge immediately (shows as a tick in iOS) but not sure why that would affect pre-conditioning if it was set the other way but could see it might if it thought it didn't have enough charge

Edit one other long shot - are you charging via 3 pin plug lead and if so what is the charge rate set to in the in car menu - wonder whether if it's set to low and does that affects pre-conditioning so make sure it's set to high (can't remember if that's the term used)

Yes I'm definitely on low charge rate. Indeed that could be it. My house is old and I don't want to stress the wiring too much before my charger is installed. We burnt out a socket with a plug in hot tub on the patio once! . It turned out it was a spur but sunk into the wall as it it was part of the ring main.

I'm not sure that will be the problem; the car will precondition the cabin (not the battery) if not plugged in and there's sufficient battery charge. Sometimes I've forgotten to disable a departure time when I've been not plugged in, and coming to leave at that departure time the battery is down below 90% (about 80% when it was pretty chilly).
So the charging rate should only affect how charged the battery is after its preconditioned...

Some feedback on the piano black trim I have it in mine

It's really nice makes the car look really good

Downside is it does show dust on it but easy to clean with a micro cloth
I have the pearl chrome finish that's nice too but wish I had gone with the red
Got red stitching on the wheel but still very nice interior you will love car

It's got everything you need for any driver cruise in silence or speed in sports very additive

Had Piano Black in my Z4. Absolutely stunning but does show dust like mad, I kept a cloth in the glovebox at all times to wipe it down lol. If it weren't a paid option on the 330e I'd have it again.
