OK lovely boys.
First impressions. Total price £39,975.
1. Drivetrain and gearbox are amazing - feels very much like the six cylinder 330 Clubsport/328i Sport I had - LOTS of low down grunt - not been over 4500 rpm yet but it's starting to sing by then - promises to sounds great when pushed once run in
2. Fit and finish beautiful
3. M Sport suspension is very (very) firm but very planted - grips like a gorilla on your granny - might be too harsh on 19s.
4. Love the Hexagon/Alcantara option - very E30 M3 - also the wheels are fantastic for £180 upgrade!!
5. Piano black makes a huge lift to the cabin feel
6. My four year old son saw it and shouted "totally cool car Dad"
7. Max E drive is very impressive - feels like a quick car full stop even without the petrol engine - whisper quiet
8. Fuel tank is tiny and range is about 300 miles - the 535d had a range of 700. So going to have to avoid the Ginsters shelf more often
9. Boot is quite shallow - you MUST get the split rear seats
All in all, an absolutely gorgeous car. 7% BIK makes it a no brainer. Paying something like £150 a month in company car tax for the car and unlimited fuel. Amazing
Good to hear your feedback Soov! Does look good that choice! . Any interior pics?.First impressions. Total price £39,975.

Got extra 3 week delay on mine now due to shortage on Samsung batteries. Here's hoping they aren't ones meant for the Note 7!.
So I've got to put up with a likely July delivery currently
So after much cajoling my company has finally signed off on me getting one! They have also said they'll reimburse the cost of daily home charging (although I have to pay for the charger installation!) so my question is, do any of the chargers you can install allow you to show how much electricity they are using separate to everything else?
Thanks
Thanks

Having had a Nissan Leaf for 2 1/2 years and now an Outlander PHEV, both of which were always charged each day when at home, the difference on our electricity bill was negligible. Thanks

The Charger we had installed at house (under the Grant scheme) has its own digital meter installed alongside our main fuse box so it's really easy to see exactly how much electricity is going purely to the car.
Thanks both for the replies. RichUK - when you say negligible what are saying approx. over a year? I realize this would be massively ballpark as everyone pays different tariffs etc but just to get an idea.
gansstraat - OK thats good to know, which one is it if you dont mind me asking?
Whilst on the subject of chargers I am hearing (after doing some research) that a lot of owners dont bother with installing a charge point at all and at best just install an outside plug. The theory being that the increase in charge time and monetary saving will never outweigh the cost of installation. I'd be interested to hear peoples thoughts on that too.
Sorry, so many questions!
Thanks

I would honestly say less than £100 per year. To give an idea of usage, the Leaf averaged 600 miles per month.RichUK - when you say negligible what are saying approx. over a year? I realize this would be massively ballpark as everyone pays different tariffs etc but just to get an idea.

I'm having a box fitted by ChargedEV at the end of the month and didn't think twice about it.
I went for a universal box rather than a fixed lead in case anything changes in the future.
I am still waiting for my box to be fitted by ChargedEV. Whilst considerably cheaper than the Phoenix works (£670!!), they are not exactly "on it" for customer service. But that my be a regional issue. I contacted them in early February, it was two weeks before I could get a survey visit. Then it took them over a week to give me a quote that must have taken all of 30 seconds to prepare. Payment was taken immediately of course in advance (£175). Then they couldn't fit me in for installation until March 24th (3 weeks) and then yesterday I get a phone call to say that "the engineer" was going on holiday and the earliest they can do me is now April 5th . Of course, yes I will just change all my arrangements to suit.I went for a universal box rather than a fixed lead in case anything changes in the future.
On the subject of tethered non tethered, I have decided that faffing about with a charge cable every day in and out of the boot or whatever is annoying. So tethered for me. So far I have had no opportunity to use a Type 2 cable anywhere.

In terms of payback for the charger, consider you need to buy an outside socket, external cabling and potentially MCB for your fuse board. The £150 for a tethered connection is really not much more by the time you add it all up.
Also consider ease of use, getting the cable out of the boot each time is a pain, now I drive up onto my drive and plug in as I walk past. You need to decide what cost you put on convenience.
Lastly, it can charge in 2 hours compared to 3, not that much faster but can be better if you charge more than just once overnight.

Everyone will have a different opinion but I have the 19's and fine the ride more than acceptable. I find the car somehow feels more responsive with a full battery. Not sure why might just be me - I stick to comfort mode most of the time with sport when I'm in the mood.First impressions. Total price £39,975.

Anyone gone for the Individual Leather in Cashmere Beige? I've historically had black leather (which has been great in the 5 Series), but wanted a change - should look good against the Estoril blue. Just hope it's relatively easy to keep clean.
Gone for the Estoril blue with light oyster coloured seats myself as I also thought the light colour would contrast well against the blue/black of the car My car was due to go back last Tuesday but I'm now in extra time with it seeing as my projected delivery date has been pushed back to second week of July

I had to extend my existing lease for an extra month, but I had some good news today. BMW contacted me to say that my car was expected at the dealership today, so I should get it next week....10 days ahead of plan Gassing Station | EV and Alternative Fuels | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
