BMW 330e ordered...

Had mine 5 weeks now and loving it still. Just got this urge to press the 'p' button whilst still in motion. Presume there is an override switch above a certain speed? I know it's absolutely stupid and either bloody dangerous or will do damage to the motor but I have a morbid itch that I feel the need to scratch!

Haha, luckily, nothing will happen over a certain speed (usually 5-10mph) so press away (don't really just in case) Gb908010 said:

Looking forward to seeing these pics!.
A bit of an annoyance then with the app not working. Wonder if it's a device specific issue? Have you another device on perhaps a different operating system that you could try?

Just for info, I completed a 600 mile round trip this week.
1. Left home fully charged, 225 motorway miles then 50 mile across country (hills), then some local running around. 300 miles in total 41.43MPG
2. Home journey, filled up, NOT charged, 50 miles across country then 250 miles of motorway home. 300 miles in total = 42.85MPG
Calculated using actual fill amounts and journey miles. No opportunity to charge anywhere at destination, and I can't see the point of charging for 30 minutes on the motorway.
The journey home was a slightly different route due to my start point that meant a longer trip back to the motorway that ended up with the exact same mileage driven, without the local destination running in the total.
I did some running in Eco Pro and some in Comfort, and I left the climate system switched on mostly with the air con off (mostly).
I get similar on a 265 mile (each way) trip I have to do frequently, along with anything up to 100 miles while there with no options to charge. Get about 43mpg going up and whole trip ends up about 40mpg. That's all in comfort mode aircon left in auto and mostly at motorway speeds with only 1 or 2 hold up to lower speeds, not including slow lorries (fuel economy takes a hit when they move out of the way though 1. When at my destination there are a number of roundabouts on dual carriageways resulting in fun but poor fuel economy and I sometimes use the engine to charge the batteries when going to the hotel in the evenings so I can precondition for the morning...albeit the weather getting better that I do not need to worry about that.
At home my normal daily journey to the office is 11 miles each way and ability to charge at home and the office. I installed a tethered 32A (future proof) charge point which takes about 2 hours to fully charge and means I have no hassle of getting cables out of the boot...at home at least - I have a 10m cable on order for connecting to the point at work!
I had a 2.2 diesel Mazda CX5 before the 330e and that only managed 42mpg for the same long journey so I'm happy!
Left home on a full charge, brimmed with petrol. The outbound trip was 185 miles up the M6. But this time when I got on the motorway I went into SAVE mode all the way. This hammers the MPG of course but when you hit 90% battery, which it does quite quickly, you are OK again. My destination was only just off the M6 so I switched to Max EDrive and pulled up with about 70% battery left.
Return journey, back on the M6 and back into SAVE mode, I got diverted off for a few miles and some traffic. In traffic I used Max Edrive and then back into Save mode to recharge once it cleared. 15 miles from home, switched to Max Edrive and burned all the electric power stored.
Pulled up at home having driven 377 miles and filled up this morning. MPG calculated at 46MPG for the return trip using the actual fill amount. This is better than the 42MPG I did last week, but I had no big sections of A roads to do this time.
Interesting though.

Beutiful! Same, colour, interior, and wheels as I'm getting :-) I've noticed the vast majority of Astoril blue F30s in the UK have black interiors, which makes sense from a practicality point of view especially with kids (which I have), but living in a warmer climate as I do, I couldn't bare the thought of black lather, so Oyster it is, and I'll just have to work at keeping it clean.

271 left on range and 0% battery
Drove eco pro and auto e drive
Is this the best for 70% motorway.
70mphmax speed.
Will try the app on my android as well and will report back
Will post pics later
That's funny because a colleague has just got an Outlander and he drove around 150 miles and has 1/4 of a tank left from full Drove eco pro and auto e drive

Its actually not the kids you need to worry about, I had a Merc for a couple of years with light leather tan interior and whilst kids did deposit unspeakable things, and need the occasional clean up, my drivers seat turned a shade of blue from jeans dye . Something I'm ready for now with leather conditioners and sealers being ordered.I've noticed the vast majority of Astoril blue F30s in the UK have black interiors, which makes sense from a practicality point of view especially with kids (which I have), but living in a warmer climate as I do, I couldn't bare the thought of black lather, so Oyster it is, and I'll just have to work at keeping it clean.
I'm also averaging in the mid to low 40's on the mpg for long journeys(, Better than the Audi 2.0 tdi ), Although on normal commute days I'm managing in MaxEdrive, to get to and from work without the engine starting, That's 22 miles in total, but I have to charge each way,

Yes, very true about the jeans dye. In fact, I noticed the driver's seat in the 440i at my local dealership (same combo of Astoril Blue/Oyster interior) is already suffering from that (not sure why they don't take better care keeping it clean).
Hello all. Great thread full of real world info. I ordered my Estoril blue msport with s/p glass and folding rear seat 2 weeks ago. Est delivery mid July. Time so start wishing my life away again. Had a golf gtd for the last 3 years so I'm looking forward to something less common and less tractor sounding. My first BMW too!(age 42)
