Further update received.

"It would be best to discuss delivery dates with BMW who may be able to bring forward lead times, once delivery dates are confirmed the grant can be reapplied for to ensure they are within 9 months of claim."

So BMW can reapply for the Grant, so long as it is prior to the 31st March, or whenever the grants are used up....

Mine is white with saddle brown, got the vin thing now (finally) but still don't see the specific codes to see what stage of build its at! Perhaps I should go switch off and go to bed...

Hi. You can't find the status codes from the vin site you need to speak to BMW genius online help or ask your sales centre and they will give them to you...

Worryingly for me they were shooting through the builds and now seem to have stopped for a day's rest just as my one is nearly ready.. Literally the car before my one is built!

Status all day today has been 5290 Date change.. Both myself and my sales chap have no idea what it means but hopefully it will move to 5300 pre assembled start pretty soon.....

I ordered mine on the 21st January and was told on the 22nd of January that BMW were cutting the grant in half due to exceptional demand and any cars not already ordered would be subject to this higher price.

I think initially the grant was supposed to run until March
So I guess they kind of knew they wouldn't be able to build that amount of cars within the 9 month cut off??

Well according to the vin checker my car is officially "born" father and child are both well!

Not sure why production seemed to stop for 8 hours maybe the Germans needed a rest?!? Or the vin checker link was down...

I will check with the Genius people in the morning and see where it's at now...

Well 9 days later my 330e is back from the garage and allegedly fixed - it needed a software update! We shall see, watch out for coolant and drivetrain faults folks.

Happy driving Harris so nothing mechanical was changed?
On monday I had a bit of a scare, on exiting the garage I accidently hit the Lim button on the steering which set the limit at 30Kph, so when accelerating the engine cut almost immediately, I started thinking I had your problem and was looking for the warning lights, it took me a good few seconds to realise the limiter was active :-D

As of 0800 its now 5500 Assembly Complete, so its all done next is departed from plant.. will check this evening and see if that's happened..

Mine has been 1100 Scheduled since I ordered, with an ETA of week 25 (late June). How many days / weeks before should I expect this status to start actually progressing?

My coolant message came on once but I just topped it up a tiny bit and hasn't come on since. Glad you have the vehicle back. Strange that it needed a software update so soon. Mine certainly hasn't had one unless they push it to the car automatically

Good news for you Dean! I think I'm about 100 cars behind you so using your 30 cars per day guesstimate mine should start on the move on Saturday ish.

HI Chris - it's about 3-4 weeks prior to your expected delivery date that you'll see production codes start moving. Using the link Dean provided bimmer.work/ gives you good idea on where it is so you don't have to ring the dealer all the time

It will go quick from "1200, Scheduled for Production" to "5055 Confirmed by production control". in between is "5050 Chassis number allocated", as the name suggests this is when you can find out the VIN number, you will need to speak to BMW sales to get this, Genius wont give it to you.

From that point you can use the VIN checker to see how far away from production you are..

I went from 5055 to 5500 assembly complete in 5 days!

It's been ok since so fingers crossed.

There is a tuning plug and play kit available for the 330e now. Check out this thread anyone who's interested (who owns their car of course)!
