BMW 330e ordered...

I have been watching this post with great pleasure since ordering my 330e at the beginning of January. It has helped fill a void of having to wait months for my new car which I have not test drove, although I have just returned a leased 335D M-Sport that was exceptional. My new 330e Luxury will come as Platinum Silver, Oyster Leather with 19" 407 alloys. Today I found out my car is now in the UK and will be delivered on 17th May. I suffered from squeaky bum time during March when posts starting appearing that leasing companies were having to cancel their orders, but thankfully, we must have got in there just in time. Will try and post some pics once here, but now I am like a kid at Christmas, counting down the sleeps until it arrives. Sorry to boast, just now even more excited that it's actually arriving.

Hi there. I also ordered through lex and got my VIN number by this method -
The government grant letter that I had to sign came to me from Lex via the dealership - this has the BMW order number on it.
I then spoke to my local BMW dealer and gave him my order number, he then gave me some details on the production and a VIN.
I order mid January and am now at 9620 - at sea! Exciting !

Does anyone know what "proof" of order is required to get the subsidised charge point?

I am tempted by Rolecs offer of £299 installed for a 32amp socket, but it has to be done by the end of June.

After a stressful few days of being told my order was delayed BMW have thankfully confirmed I am still on for week 26?delivery! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Hi, I got a Rolec installed and had to give them some proof, which consisted of screenshots of my order with Lex.
I think I'm right in saying that the 330e only supports 16amp charging by the way, so unless you are looking to future proof go for that. The 32 will work but output at 16 ( if that's the right terminology)

The 32amp install is priced the same so planning on future proofing, I think having to charge a pure electric at 16 amps would be frustrating!

Hey! I just got my VIN a couple of weeks ago, not sure if I could have gotten my it earlier as I hadn't asked before. Build week was 17 I think, production was 28/04 and went to sea today so once it starts the process is pretty quick.
Hoping to have it within two weeks , I hope, the wait this year is killing me!

I have a quick update. I just got word that my 330e M Sport was unloaded at Hanko, Finland yesterday. The expected delivery date has gone from June 17th to May 27th, yesssss !

day 1. Order date: February 19th, 2016 (Friday)
day 63. Build date: April 22nd, 2016 (Friday)
day 66. Shipped from Bremerhaven, Germany: April 25th, 2016 (Monday)
- loaded to UECC Auto Bay, route Bremerhaven (25.4), Cuxhaven (26.4), Southampton (27.4), Zeebrugge (29.4), Kotka (3.5), St Petersburg (4.5), Hanko (5.5)
day 76. Unloaded in Finland: May 5th (Thursday)
day 91. Expected dealer day: May 20th (Friday)
day 98. Expected delivery: May 27th (Friday)

Couldn't be happier :-)

My 330e M Sport



My buddy got his 330e M Sport *TODAY*; he placed his order in late Dec 2015. We tested out the Wallbox that I got installed about a month ago and it worked great.

Ordered one through Alphabet in Jan, got an estimated delivery of week 30

Lease company hasn't got the VIN yet, but has given me order numbers and an IVS number, can these be checked anywhere or would I have to ask at a dealer?

That's gonna drive me insane if it's just sat there at the dealer waiting. What a waste of time, what do they need to 'prep' apart from peeling off some protective film and removing the shipping blocks? Argh.

I thought that before I got there but then saw just how many news cars are sat at one dealer waiting to be prepped! Plus they have to do a few checks, register it and allocate number plates etc, then clean it. Mine arrived today and picking it up 3pm next Wed so not too bad, although frustrating at the same time as I'd have left my A3 there and drove it home as it is...

Does anyone else think the steering is very light? We have a 320d on fleet and it feels much better.

Also, what sort of charge time are people getting? From 'empty' mine can take 4 - 4 1/2 hours on the standard plug, which seems higher than I would expect.

It sounds like you need to change the charge intensity setting in your iDrive menu from "Low" or "Reduced" to "Maximum". I believe the default setting is "Low", so you'll be charging at the slowest rate as a consequence. I think that the process is Settings --> Charging. Scroll down to the bottom of the charging page and there's an option to change this setting.
