Hi all

Really am struggling with excitement now. order date 5th Jan & have code of 5050 at the moment with it due into factory at some point over next 5 days. have anticipated delivery to dealer of wk 25 (20th June)

Question for existing users, does anyone know if its possible to heat the seats and steering wheel when using the preheating function?

Hi All. I'm due get my car next week, well, hopefully, the dealer has been really poor with updates. Really looking forward to it again, after getting very fed up during the wait. It's a lease though my Limited company due to the low BIK.

I wondered though if anyone has any advice on the insurance for the car? It's just two Directors and this one car, so doesn't really qualify for fleet insurance. The one company I've found that would quote with the company being keeper and lease company as owner wanted £2,900, which is a little more than the £230 I'm paying personally for my current C32.
With mine I got it put down as my name and the name of the company on the v5 / keeper. Churchill insurance is who I went with 825 a year for 17000 miles, tell them it's a company car but do the insurance in your name they will list your company name down on the insurance. My accountant said it would be fine doing it that way and to pay with the company bank account because the link to the car is with the reg. Hope that helps.

Great forum everyone, its keeping me somewhat sane while waiting for my 330e. Was originally promised by BMW for April but now has a confirmed build slot in mid June frown. Went for Alpine white, with coral red interior, M Sport Plus pack, Media Professional pack, sunroof and heated steering wheel for my ever freezing hands!! Cant wait, its my first new from factory car.

I am curious about feedback on the MSport Vs non-MSport suspension. I had a 320d MSport on test for a couple of days with the 19s fitted which i assume had the MSport suspension fitted also and didnt mind it. In the past I've had a 58 plate Leon FR fro a few years which was pretty stiff which was fine with me and currently have a C220d (non AMG line) which is too rolly polly in my opinion. The 330e has been speced with the 19' 442 M on the M Sport suspension.
From a long term point of view, I would like to know peoples feedback? Its it work keeping the MSport suspension or deleting it.
As I posted, I have the 19" 442s on standard suspension this time but that is totally in relation to my previous experience of sport suspension and the roads in the area I live. There are only poor roads and not even a dual carraigeway near me, what is a motorway lol. It was the main issue I had pre-order and I knew I was likely facing a compromise. But this standard / 19" set up is good and I doubt it would be too bad on sports at all.

My insurance clearly states me as keeper & driver but with the company as owner, however I am an employee with no interest in said company. Been like this for a number of years with various cars - I remember setting it up and stipulating the details - and no problems. Cost now is around £350 with full protected no claims.

Hi all. For those interested in lead time, I got some good news today. I ordered in early April and was told it would be delivered in late March 2017. Today the dealership revised the delivery date to the end of October (2016)! Either the dealerships are being ridiculously prudent in their estimates or else BMW are finally reacting to the long lead times and popular demand in the UK.

Would be interested to hear if anyone else has been moved forward 6 months like me?

Thanks MrGaz & Dragonfly. Will try Churchill and do some more digging tomorrow. Current insurers said just £166 more for the remaining term to April if I switched it across, but best to get the company name in there.

I think there is more leeway as a director, but I'd like to do it as correct as possible.

No you can't sorry, the preconditioning is a basic switch on, you can't even chose temperature, the car decides the best temperature itself based on the outside temperature, it works very well though, if I'm leaving work and it's been a very warm day I either use the app or push the key fob button 10 minutes before I go out to the car and it's nice and cool when I get in, same on a cold morning leaving the house, it's nice and warm and the windows are clear.

I dare say it's functionality they could add to the app in the future because you can lock and unlock the car and flash the lights from the app so it would be a natural progression

Hey guys,

quick update. My 330e M Sport just arrived to the dealership yesterday (Wed May 25th 2016) and will be delivered to me next Thursday (June 2nd 2016).

The car hasn't been cleaned up yet and is missing all the nice M Performance and carbon parts, but it already looks pretty good in my opinion. :-)

Nice biggrin. Mine's been '9605 Pre EU Port of Exit' since Tuesday, hopefully it's on a boat by the weekend!

Got an email from my dealer today. My car is on a transporter, due into them tomorrow 27th and they think they can prepare it for me that day.

I'm in the same boat if you'll pardon the pun. At EU port of exit since Tuesday and the same yesterday. They keep saying due week 23 each time I contact them, but I assume this is to the dealer. As mine is a company car, for reasons best known to themselves the car is going to a dealer in Sheffield although I live in Scotland, so that will mean another delay I expect

That's interesting. I ordered mid March (well as far as I can tell from the useless organisation I had to order through). About 2 weeks ago I got an email saying delivery early March 2017.

If it does now get brought forward it has pro's and con's for me. My existing 320d lease doesn't finish to March 2017. Originally when I was told July 2016 it was cost effective for me to buy myself out of the current lease. If it ends up being Sept/Oct 2016, then it will not be cost effective for me to swap out early...

For those of you who have / ordered the Harmon Kardon setup, this thread is worth a read.

From what I have read (reading between the American rubbish), the BMW HK is probably the best off the shelf stereo setup of any car on the road, but that it isn't quite in the same league as much more expensive after market kit.

However to get the best out of the HK apparently the settings should be tweaked. I can not say either way at the moment as I don't have the car yet, I would be interested to know what current owners think though.

Sounds like your ordering through a lease company too. The way my scheme works is that if you order early they just adjust when they put in your order so it ties in with the end of your lease, so you cant take delivery early. I suspect your delivery time may always be March 2017 as that's when you're due for a replacement, whereas my current lease finishes next month, but I'm stuck with it until the new car arrives.

Interestingly the price of the car through my scheme (Zenith) has fallen by £106 a month since I ordered in April but they won't adjust my price down. If lead times have now fallen, and as they'll let me cancel without penalty, I'm now having to ponder whether to cancel and re-order exactly the same car (thus likely restarting the delivery lead time again, probably to December) to save myself £2.5k over the 24 contract. It's infuriating!

Hi funkydunc, all - thanks for the nod on the site to change the settings for the HK. Up until tonight I've been a little disappointed with the sound compared to my old B&O in my S3. Made the changes that this guy Glen advised and it's unreal, the difference and quality is chalk and cheese to what I've been listening to! Just adds to the amazing car this is...thanks again

Hi

Don't know if they are the same as the settings you have found but before I got my car I found the below settings that a sound engineer had come up with using test equipment, they also sound amazing smile

Treble flat
Bass flat

L7 on

100Hz +5
200Hz -5
500Hz +1
1kHz flat
2kHz flat
5kHz -1
10kHz -1

Bass & Treble = Flat
Balance & Fader = Centered
L7 active
(Speed Volume = Center)

Thanks Mr Gaz, they aren't far off I think but will have a check in the morning. My only preference is to fade to the rear a little to balance the sound out as it's bit front heavy for me
