BMW 330e ordered...
Discussion
Finally got my Metallic Black 330e Sport on Friday. Actually arrived a couple of weeks early so it was an unexpected surprise! (Ordered mid - late January).
It's the first 3 series I've driven for years so not sure how to compare it with others like the 320d etc. All I can say is that it's very quick. It has instant torque at almost any speed. Even in pure electric it feels pretty quick off the mark. I did have a 330d Sport it was one of the first 204bhp versions. At the time that was one of the fastest diesels you could buy. This feels a lot quicker (based on my old memory!)
I haven't really sussed out all the driving modes yet so I'm probably not getting the optimum economy out of it yet. For info over first 200 odd miles I'm averaging about 46 mpg. That's very mixed driving including urban and motorway. On a short trip of urban and motorway I did see 76mpg.
If you're still waiting for yours to arrive I'm sure you'll be delighted when it arrives. The guy who delivered mine was very impressed and said its one of the best cars he's ever driven!

It really is a feel-good car isn't it?!! I'm going to be gutted to have to hand this back in two years time!
A few things I'm struggling with:
Very rarely the awesome blue interior light comes on when I unlock the car and mostly it doesn't.
I've set the ambient lights to classic (orange) rather than sports (white) so maybe that has something to do with it?
Also the stereo defaults to zero volume so have to turn it up everytime (using Spotify & Android), and the sat nav defaults to 'North Oriented' so I have to set it to my preferred 3d view everytime. Small issues I guess - but this is my first Bimmer so I'm sure I'll learn to love it's intricacies !!!

With the blue interior light you need to have it set to sport (white)
I know with my iPhone it sometimes sets the volume low, just need to turn it up with the buttons on the phone.
Have you tried renaming the user profile in the car and then use the same key all the time (your profile links to the key just call it your name) you can also back it up to connected rive.

The wait is almost over!!
My production date was 29/4 and it arrived at the dealer Thursday 12/5, very impressive. I picked it up on 16/5, excellent effort from all concerned. The wait is almost over!!
Since my last post, I topped up the tank at the end of the week having done 460 miles for 32,5 litres. A lot of local running and charged fairly regularly but also with 130 miles + 90 miles runs included with no charging and a bit of 'save battery' running. Very happy with that, around 64mpg. And my employers like their reduced fuel bill.,
Although the bik was the primary reason for the change, I am really enjoying the switch, the 330e is simply great to drive.

Hi Dragonfly - whereabouts do you get your average mpg from? I've been looking at the dash display and the best I get is around 49mpg which I'm assuming is the engine only. Tis is the only bit I've been struggling with...cheersSince my last post, I topped up the tank at the end of the week having done 460 miles for 32,5 litres. Simply when I absolutely necked the tank on refill. I have never used the car computer, just the miles covered and the fuel it takes to totally fill back up.An exact combined rate but no fancy breakdown, sorry.

Car arrived in the UK last Monday, just been delayed AGAIN to get to dealer next Monday. Terrible service IMO. In this day and age the fact I can order a product worth £38,000 and have absolutely NO IDEA if/when/where it will arrive until it appears is frankly ridiculous.
Chris you have my utmost sympathy. I was delighted at the weekend to be told by BMW genius that my car was at the dealers in Sheffield. Great I thought, I should have it at the end of the week, but oh no, the lease Company said I could get it after the 17th June. After a rant that has now been brought forward to the 14th June as the 'earliest date'. So it takes 16 days from leaving Munich, getting to the port, loaded onto a ship, cross the channel, clear customs and get delivered to the dealer. Then it taken nearly as long to travel 300 miles to Scotland. Absolutely appalling Duncrieviedude said:

To make matters worth, it's barely 2 hours drive away from me in Southampton.Production start was 16/05
Production finished 20/05
On a boat by 27/05
Arrived Southampton 30/05.
So 2 weeks to go from a pile of components in boxes to built and functional and transported 600 miles across two countries and an ocean. Then 3 weeks for it to be sat still in a parking lot before being 'prepped' by a dealer, with no clear date or schedule given for any of it.
Yesterday they told me it will be at the dealer today, today they say next Monday. Who knows what will happen next Monday. I know it's not the dealers fault whatsoever it just amazes me that BMW logistics think this is good service.
Duncrieviedude + Chris1712, that really is shocking. And as you said Chris, the fact that BMW logistics seem ok with it is very, very poor. My car was 13 days from production to dealer and that was in Scotland as well so there should be no excuse from BMW because it can be done. Could it be down to luck with the boat & transport schedules or are BMW just sloppy?
The dealership were upfront with info all along and although I did keep in touch via genius, it was just for confirmation. I could probably have collected my before the 4th day as well but, as it arrived on a Thursday, it suited me to pick it up on the Monday. When they dealer said it had arrived and I said pick up on the Monday, they asked if I was happy enough to leave it until then so they were not dodging the issue.
Anyway, good luck. It is worth the wait.

Very nice!! Are those bmw extras or your own mods? Didn't see the black grille or bmw floor logos on the extras lists
Mr iPerformance, I am not a fan of black as a rule but your car looks absolutely fantastic.Mcpaynter, I never saw the black grille on the options list either so just told the dealer to do it. He fixed it, not a problem and also looks good with estoril & 442s..
Hi all,
Just for info for anyone else waiting on their cars...
Order placed - 07/02
order status - 1200 (Scheduled for Manufacture - as of 20/05)
Scheduled for Manufacture - 13/06
Scheduled for delivery - 7/7
Does anyone know how long before Manufacture the VIN number is allocated, and therefore I can start to track progress properly? also can someone remind me where I can track this using the VIN once I have it?
Getting seriously excited now!!
