Very nice!! Are those bmw extras or your own mods? Didn't see the black grille or bmw floor logos on the extras lists

Thanks! Everything else are BMW M Performance, BMW i or BMW genuine accessories with the exception of the carbon mirror caps and the high gloss dual slat grilles that are from RW Carbon, California (rwcarbon.com). I'll be posting a full video of the car on my YouTube channel, so stay tuned for that :-)

Design principles / exterior
I decided to go with a timeless black / black combo. This will be my 10th black car and my 14th car overall. My first car was a 1985A model Porsche 944, which in my opinion had one of the nicest paint colors ever made, which was called Montego Black metallic and it was only available for a couple of years. For me the Black Sapphire metallic is very similar to this color. In cloudy weather it is a great looking black, but in sunny weather it is a very-very dark grey. I absolutely love Estoril Blue metallic as well and almost went with it. Maybe my next BMW will be an Estoril Blue, who knows.

I really love the look of black and carbon fiber together and decided to accent the car with a few carbon fiber parts. I ordered a CF spoiler and CF mirror caps from RW Carbon along with Double Slat Gloss Black Grilles. I might still go with an M Performance look CF front lip from RW Carbon and some carbon fiber rocker panel blade attachments. Needless to say my car will look pretty sporty.

Debage or not to debadge? I'm old school when it comes to this and have decided to keep the eDrive and 330e badges on the car.

I also purchased original 19" BMW M Sport 403M wheels that I'll use during the winter. I'm thinking of going with Continental Conti Viking Contact (CVC) winter tires, but I still have a few months to decide on this before winter arrives. Winter tires are very important here in the arctic and we need to use them for about 5 months out of the year. There's also quite a bit of snow, so dropping the car by an extra 10mm is most likely not an option, since my car would be a snow plow after that :thumbdown

Design principles / interior
With the interior I went with a classic black and chose the original F30 M Sport interior trim, which was featured at the launch of the F30 M Sport package in Barcelona back in 2011. Since I have the optional M sport brakes (=blue brake calipers) on the car, I think the estoril blue matte trim ties up the exterior and interior nicely. Note that in the LCI cars the blue trim also extends to the door panels, which should look great. I won't be putting in any carbon accessories to the interior and would like to keep it looking clean.

If you don't mind sharing, what kind of lease deals did you guys sign up to for your cars?

Hi msport123. Thanks, glad you like it! I paid cash, since the tax law is ridiculous up here in Finland. I'm also planning to keep my car for a pretty long time.

Mr iPerformance, I am not a fan of black as a rule but your car looks absolutely fantastic.

Thanks, much appreciated smile

It also rides sooooooo well. I let my lady drive it and she was giggling the entire time and was saying how great and planted the car feels. Also, she thought the noise the EV motor made on MAX eDRIVE was hilarious. When accelerating the car says 'wheeeeee... !' ... funny stuff. Now I hear it every single time when I go on the gas biggrin

Great spec for what works out to be on average £440 per month over the 2 years. Good mileage allowance too!

Hi all,

Just received some bad news from BMW regarding my 330e that I ordered as a company car on 29/02/16......

When I checked on 18/05/16, I was told the same dates that were confirmed to me when I placed the order in Feb:
Order status - 1100 (Scheduled)
Scheduled for Manufacture - 24/06
Scheduled for delivery - 27/7

However when I checked again yesterday (07/06/16), I was told that the date had now slipped:
Scheduled for Manufacture - 07/11

When I queried this with the dealer, I was told:

"BMW have pulled all of the build slots back due to other model changes at the moment however after speaking with them it is more than likely they will push them all forward again but we are unsure as to what date at the moment."

Really not happy with a 5 month slippage at such a late stage - the vehicle was due to hit production in only a few weeks time.
furious

I suggest others check their orders too.

Two of my colleagues were considering ordering 330e's for their next company cars but are now seriously reconsidering.

My friend it gets worse. If somebody placed an order for one now, they won't recieve it until Feb 2017. I would steer clear of them for now. They are releasing an X5 PHev this year if the budget allows. Go for something simple like the C Class Coupe. I know some guys doing a deal on these

BMW were surprised by the demand for a low BIK, pretty nippy car laugh

In our company lease scheme (Lex), we're told Apr 2017 delivery and you can't actually order one!

Given there is only the 330e and the 225xe for now, but we are expecting a 530e, 540e and 740e, they will need to rapidly increase supply and I'd hope to see shorter leadtimes in Q4 this year. All good for nme as I need one by 18/3/17 and don't want to wait 12 months!

I know what you mean - the sound is awesome!
My mate who spent £110k on an i8 is gutted that I have the same technology in my 330e!

I love it when you boot it and have the instant torque from the ev which gives the 'wheee' sound you mention..............such a fun car to drive.

Personally, I drive EV through all 30 & 40 mph areas and then whack it into sport mode (gearshift) for everywhere else to replenish the battery, which it does way quicker than I thought.
Great fun, great power, great for the environment and great on the wallet !!

Does anyone plug straight into their house's plug sockets which are on a ring circuit? I was thinking I have to get a dedicated plug put in connected back to the fuze box. But I've read somewhere you can go into the settings and tell the car to charge at 6A, which takes longer but won't cook the house electrics. Anyone have any experience with that? Many thanks.

Charging from home works fine. You can indeed tell it which amount to charge through. At work the plug I put it into is in a circuit that's quite loaded already so I charge from the medium level power. Easy peasy.

I have a question about the preconditioning in the cabin for someone in the know?? - During the cold weather I did it and it warmed my interior up nicely and even defrosted my window - lovely! And today I did it in the UK as it's pretty warm (for once!) and it made it icy cold - lovely again!

I don't get it though... I'm sure I read that it just gets the car to 21Deg C which is comfortable. It seems it actually turns it into a fridge on cool days and makes it warm on cold days, which is great. Anyone else experienced that?

It will behave the same as if you're in the car driving, ie it gets to the temperature you've set on the climate control. Think it's just the contrast between hot/cold you're noticing wink.

That's interesting, I thought it would be ace if it just got to your last setting on the climate control but when I asked the dealer about this they insisted it just went to a pre-programmed 'comfortable' temperate of 21.

His reasoning was I could have used the car last night and left it on warm then had the climate control off this morning. It wouldn't be nice if it remembered my last setting was hot and then I get into a hot car on boiling day lol.

My understanding is also that it's set to 21 degrees so either cools or heats depending on the current temp.

I've tried changing it inside when leaving the car but it doesn't make any difference.

This is disappointing

On the "lesser" Golf GTE you can specify the temp, or included heating to front or rear windows if you wish, all via the app.

Bmw have missed a trick here, hopefully there will be an update to include this functionality (I was hoping to be able to activate heated seats and steering wheel from app!!)

Can anyone confirm the real-world MPG you're getting?

Preferably just on the petrol (no charge) so I can work out a 'worst case scenario'.

Probably a bad time. I imagine there's some spirited driving taking place!
