Is the V60 boot capacity measured from boot floor to parcel shelf? I'm just wondering if the actual decrease is less than stated percentage wise when measuring from boot floor to car roof.

From the pictures google brings up, it's the boot floor which is raised due to batteries.

Both the volume to the shelf and the roof are affected by the looks of it.

I'd guess from scaling the photos that floor to shelf is about 12-15 inches deep.

Pretty much useless for me and my lot with their gear....

44 mpg at 80 plus? Is that calculated brim to brim or just going off the display on the dash? Quite impressive if it's actual consumption.
Calculated, display was showing 43 at 77ish.

That isn't bad really. Especially not for this time of year and it's a pretty new car too.

Hi all

wanted to pick up this thread as I have a v60 D5 hybrid demonstrator arriving early February. I really like the look of the car, the numbers work as a company car, so really hoping I like the driving experience and can live with the boot space. Can I ask those of you who have been running this car for a while now, the following.

what do we think to the standard audio, does it have media storage facility?

battery range?

Diesel economy?

Also I am considering 18" wheels, has anyone else taken this option and comment?

Looking forward to some positive feedback?

I've the harmon+kardon, 10 gig IIRC

battery range?

Good, about 26 real miles

Diesel economy?

40 at 85, about 44 at 77mph.

Only go for the ones that allow a bit of profile, much better on the motorway

Does what it says on the tin, really nice build quality, a little dated but the best real world economy of all the PHEV's, with none of the drawbacks, 450 mile range.

So as a thread bump. I've had it about 16 months now.

Its been charged about 25 times since I've had it, average of 44mpg. on a long run does about 47mpg. Actual not calculated.

So as a BIK dodge without any range issues its a great option.

thanks for all the info Jason. just had a read from page 1 lol.
Does anyone run a D5 twin/ D6 and actually charge it every night? As I currently do a 37 mile commute to work and the same back. I've been running a Audi A6 2010 into the ground ( currently at 170,000 miles) which averages 42-44 mpg on every tank. I don't have a company car, so I'd be buying a D6 out of my own pocket (used they seem to be 13k to 16k) But looking at the info if I charged it every night I could knock quite a bit of daily diesel bill. But I don't want to trust the published mpg figures.

any comments from owners would be great smile

Sorry for bumping an ancient thread but I couldn't see if these questions have been answered elsewhere. I'm in a similar boat. Currently not commuting much at all (because there's a pandemic on) but in "normal" times I have a 27 mile (each way) commute. I have a similarly ancient pug (currently on 150k) and am looking at something both bigger (hopefully have a small person on the way) and better for the planet than a pure ICE. Also looking to buy out of my own pocket so I don't care about BIK dodging and just want a good car for the money. For those that do charge it every day, does that knacker the battery and what kind of range would you expect to get from it now?

I can’t see how charging it every night would knacker the battery, but someone more in the know may correct me on that. Surely that is what the car would want you to do and is the point of a phev.

I reckon at best you would probably be luck to get 12-16 miles range from the battery only, judging by what I’ve read. Obviously, it depends on lots of factors - route, weather/temperature, driving style etc.

I thought the Volvo would be the perfect intro to phev for me - until I read how small the boot is! It really does appear to be tiny. Something else that put me off them is, diesels are slow to get up to temperature. So if you do more miles than the range on battery alone, but not enough to get the engine fully warmed up, this can’t be good for it? Especially if this happens on a regular basis, what with dpf’s, egr valves etc. Again, just a thought I had, I’m sure others know more.
