Hi,
have sent you a PM jimbojones81. I'm going to go for a 60D after much deliberation. If anyone has a referral code I could use it would be very much appreciated.
thanks.

Apparently a 15% price rise is due on the 1st of October due to the weak £. So anyone wanting a Tesla soon should get their orders in now.
More like a 6% rise according to the Tesla salesman I was speaking to yesterday.Enough for me to make me stay in my BMW a bit longer.
Interesting article here regarding Tesla's power claims for the Model S P85D/P90D

The link seems broken or lawyers have been to work. There were a lot of issues with Tesla when the P85D came out.. the complaint was they let "motor power" be interpreted as "power" - so people bought thinking they were getting 760 odd bhp and weren't as it was limited by the battery. A year later they quoted battery power on their web site and it was high 400 bhp from memory. The significance is the non-P car, the 85D at the time, had around 500 bhp motors, more than enough given they share the same battery. On the move, the cars are very similar, just one costs something like 20k more. It's a bit more complicated but not much.http://blog.caranddriver.com/tesla-model-s-p85d-shortchanges-on-horsepower-owners-in-norway-claim/
The other misleading stat, at least to some, was the 0-60 time for the P cars is based on 1 foot roll out and not genuine 0-60. It may not seem a big difference but when you're down around 3s, 0.2s is significant. So they advertised the P as 1s quicker to 60 than the non P... but as they used a different basis, the real difference was only about 0.7s based in real tests.
Given people were buying off plan, and waiting 6 months or more before they could actually drive the car, some got pretty annoyed. The defence is that the letter of everything written was accurate, it was, but still misleading.
The link previously posted doesn't work, however this one does

If that fails just go to Google, type in Norway and click the news tab at the top.

I didn't realise Tesla quoted BHP at all to be honest, is it on their website? Maybe they removed it.
To me this issue seems similar to manufacturers of ICE cars quoting crank BHP vs wheel.
Finally, is there a source of dyno results for Teslas? I'd be interested to see what my 90D makes at the wheels.
Edit. Looking for dyno results I found this: Tesla dual motor power and torque specs

They did this first...
and all the magazines started talking about cars with 762bhp which Tesla have never corrected. You'll also note they were able to quote the battery limit on the 85D but not the P85D - its not always what you say, its what you don't say that damns you.
Eventually, after a lot of pressure and even a blog from the designer that said you can't really measure power (the article linked to already), they changed it to this..
which as you can see, the gap has closed considerably between the models.
And don't miss...
Thats the nub of the issue
And don't get me started on the fact that on the first version they quote range of say the 85D as being 330 miles and the 90 upgrade adds 6%, but when they publish the actual 90D figure its only 340 miles which is 3% more - I paid a couple of grand for that!

Be quick if you're ordering - a price increase is imminent (from an email I received today):
I wanted to make you aware of some important information - At the end of this month there is going to be a price increase on all custom order Tesla vehicles. It has been several months since the UK decided to leave Europe and as a result the pound has fallen against the dollar by about 15%. This isn't to say that the price of our vehicles will increase by that amount, and as of yet we are still unsure of the exact amount but it is fair to say that it will be a meaningful increase.
As you have shown interest in purchasing a Tesla previously I just wanted to make you aware of the situation and to be as transparent as possible. Therefore, in order to secure the current prices for your new vehicle you will need to look at placing an order by the end of September. We can always defer delivery until next year if that is when you were wanting a new vehicle thus ensuring that you won't be paying anymore for your perfect car!
If you would like us to look into Trade-ins or any funding quotes then please do get in touch – I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Kind Regards,
