C350e AMG Line has just been announced.

Pretty sure I've had a towbar fitted to a diesel C Class Sport though?

Tow bar can be fitted from the factory, and it appears a few enterprising owners have managed to fit them aftermarket too.

My supplying dealer said it was because of the foot operated boot release thing...

You only get that with a Premium/Premium Plus Package. I know on the GLC and GLE the foot operated boot release can be disabled as it doesn't work with a towbar
