For others that took out the cheap 2 year deals on the Zoe back around xmas 2015...

Has anyone yet heard anything about their car being collected?

I filled in a form to let them know I wanted to give it back and the deal expires on Sunday 15 Jan but, so far, not a whisper from anyone

I just spoke to some useless person at Renault Finance who could see I had returned the form, but knew nothing else....

I only posted my form back today. Contract ends 21 February. Going about 600 miles over the 16k mileage, hit exactly 16k on the 2 year anniversary of picking it up.

Me too!!

Someone from Renault tried to ring my Mrs yesterday but we were in the middle of dealing with a bit of a family crisis so had to put them off. I assume it was the call to arrange the pre-collection inspection.

We are a bit over our mileage and wonder if we can argue a reduction given we have actually had the car for 25 months rather than 24. I didn't want it for 25 months so having it the extra 4 weeks adds a bit on. This assumes RCI do actually chase us for the few hundred miles we've gone over.

Update - called Mannheim and used option 1 which was answered, inspection slot for the 24th and collection 25th sorted. They are collecting a lot of Zoes at the moment.

Did you get a free granny cable with yours?

Our batch of cars weren't actually sold with one, I got one through Renault customer services after I complained a lot about the charge point install being delayed and having no way to use the care, so it's mine to keep.

Don't forget to keep it if you have one. They are easily worth circa £250+ 2nd hand, there is a demand for them too.

No Granny cable sadly but got an armrest!

Anyhoo we have made a decision on Mrs DS`s car were buying a Zoe if we can get a deal circa £180 a month they are approx £7k and on a pcp I expect the payments and deposit to be low and we will run it into the ground either keeping after the pcp or buying it out.

Ok so 2015 Zoe Dynamique 2500 miles after 2 years and 14.5k its worth £2500 (without the battery) and after 4 years and 26.5k its worth £1500 and it can be handed back with maybe its worth a bit more probably not.

To pcp it will cost (over 2 years) £6800 or £9700 over 4 years

1000 dep 1000

It doesnt add up sadly

I am wondering if Renault actually want this batch of "late 2014 special offer" Zoes back

How many left indicates that the bulk of all Zoes sold was probably to do with that deal

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=%E2%9C%93&...

At the moment there are 64 on Autotrader ranging from £4995 to £16k and what with the new battery version available now too, I am not sure they are a going to go like hot cakes

Is that part of the explanation for Renault's lethargy to collect?

I got a call Friday from manheim.

They are inspecting on 31st and collecting shortly after.

New car arrives on Friday.

So, yeah, they are collecting them.....i wonder how strict they are with charging for defects. I've read that manheim can be very picky but it's ultimately RCI that decide the charge. Mines got a tiny dent on the A pillar, one grazed alloy and 800 miles over the agreed 15k.

Fingers crossed.

Manheim collected my van on behalf of RCi just before Christmas. They went over it with a fine tooth comb for around 15mins. I had already repaired a few defects so didn't get charged anything. The same guys collected my neighbours van and he was charged £800 for excess miles and damage. You get a printout of any charges before they leave.

I done all these sums on a 15 plate just before Christmas and came to the same conclusion. I ended up getting my wife a 15 plate Smart ForFour. It cost 10k, with a £1500 deposit its £101 per month x24. The big difference is because the Smart is worth £6500 in two years time as opposed to just under £2500 for the Zoe. Pity as she quite liked the Zoe

Thread here about Leaf and ZOE hand backs.

https://speakev.com/threads/the-definitive-rci-fai...

I'm not going to mes about getting wheels refurbed or the small A-Pillar dent repaired. I can only see it being a cost neutral exercises and a lot of hassle.

I asked the dealer on Friday about a small dent where some git had banged their door of my rear wheel arch, he reckoned they wouldn't be interested if it was the only mark and if they did it was only £30-40 if I got charged.

Had my inspection today. Completely forgot about the bloody service light being on as it's been in the garage for a while, so they want to charge me £170 for that plus £50 for a kerbed alloy...
