Mines now on a low loader on it's way to god knows where.

All in all it's been a very cheap and pleasant 2 years. The hand back process was also very easy and fair.

Would I have another ZOE though? No.

Compared to the Kia and the Leaf they are a nasty, plasticky, cheap little box with a pretty face.
I would have been happy to have another, for another 2 years, on the same deal

They're supposed to be contacting me to come out and inspect mine this week, no phone call yet. Haven't got round to washing it or clearing all my crap out of it yet either. Should really get off my arse and do it.

They inspected mine Monday and it was collected today. You can just leave 5 keys in a safe place, don't have to be in for th collection part.

Chill anyway. Unless you've got some very obvious damage then they seem very fair.

Not me, but puts the £8.5K that they wanted for me to keep mine (64 plate, 20k miles) into perspective

They look a bit much at that to me

I am not sure the battery lease proposition goes well with a £5k used car

On a new one via lease / PCP, it is easier for the buyer to look at the total price than on a used one

Mine was inspected over a week ago and collection was supposed to happen a few days after but didn't.

The inspector picked up on a couple of things:

- needed a valet
- scuffed alloy
- door dent
- dents in driver's door sill where (I guess) the seatbelt had not retracted and the door been shut
- badge on front peeling

The first 3 I agree with, even though the door dent is very difficult to see it is over the size acceptable so fair enough. The dents in the sill are not something that anyone would notice of ever fix so I am loath to pay £170 to fix them.

Has anyone had any success in arguing with Manheim? The car has a lot less miles than it could have if that helps.

Well the badge is a "they all do that sir" issue so you're clear on that one. I took mine for a wash and gave the interior a good vac and clean, you should've done the same!

The other ones are being assessed against the bvrla guidelines so you're at the mercy of RCI taking action, or not. Take good photos of the damage and keep your fingers crossed.

Mannheim just provides the assessment, it is RCI that can waive the charge

The assessment contains photos etc and is to guidelines

Have in mind RCI was hoping for £8k plus if you kept the car, but is likely to get £2k from the auction....

2 weeks to end of my contract, still no contact from Mannheim. Car was washed last week in readiness for the inspection but is getting dirty again. I'm 600 miles over my 16k allowance and trying not to add more to it. As it's 8k a year but I have it for more than a year I'm ok to go over in proportion to the extra time?

Oh I am bag to rights on it needing a good clean, no problems on that one! I am going to ring them tomorrow and see what we can agree. I have already told them about my charge for a missed collection appointment wink

Interesting post about the car only fetching £2k at auction, I am seriously considering bidding on it anyway at £2k it would be a no brainer even with the battery lease.

Inspection day today.

As some other have said, it was quite fair and the only issue they had was a back to metal scratch in the door jam where a belt buckle got caught after the belt didn't retract in time.

I was a little surprised at being let off for quite a few pock marks / very slight crease in the rear bumper (noted but deemed fair wear and tear).

All in all, £40 is not a bad result after 2 years of carting the kids around.

Worth giving them a ring, I got my bill down from almost £500 to £140 after getting them to ignore the door jam scratches (also belt buckle related) no arguing required they were very helpful.

Letter today from RCI

The excess mileage charge only seems to have been applied to the car, not the battery. I was expecting 12ppmile. The option to pay in installments is decent too.

Can't argue with that really.

I think to get the really cheap deals the battery lease was on a longer time period or something like that so it may catch up with you later.

Got my invoice today

£77.70 for the dinged door and £70.17 for the excess miles + VAT £161.90, OK with that

They are chasing me for the £50 for the battery rental due from the expiry of the PCP on the car - I cancelled the DD due to the delay in Renault being able to collect the car

I don't expect to pay it

That was the argument I had saved, the Manheim auction collection condition warned there was a fee for cancellation if you were not in when they came to collect, they did not collect when I expected them and one sided contracts are illegal etc....

Mannheim inspector was supposed to contact me week beginning the 30th, still nothing. I haven't driven the car for nearly 2 weeks to try to keep it clean and avoid putting any more miles on it.
