Just got access to Tusker through work. Where is the value at the moment? Looking at a mid to larger size SUV ideally with 4 wheel drive. 8k PA would be fine.

EQB looks to be about the best currently?
Nissan Ariya e4orce is a great car and much better value than the Mercedes. In evolve spec it comes fully optioned up. Done 14k in 8 months in mine and it's been brilliant.

Mental isn’t it, your employer spends almost the full price of the car to hire it for four years. Then the lease co sell it on for £15k

oh no it's better than that.

As a pers Salary sacrifice i get to spend £832 a month on the car over 4 years totalling £39900

In return they get to loan me a car that they buy for max £33000. ofc they provide insurance and maint etc but still......

first time i've seen a lease where you pay back more than the value of the car.

I think most people understand that everyone's getting fleeced, especially the taxman which surprises me.

Tusker are making an absolute killing while keeping it just about cheap enough to make sense to us, the punters.

And even then it only makes sense to me because I'm not paying back a chunk of CB and have maxed out my pension contributions upto what we're allowed.

“Better value” depends entirely on your particular scheme, no?
Merc stuff is currently the best value for money (monthly cost as a % of p11d) on my Arval scheme.

Joe public can lease a Tesla Y for 24 months, £550 a month
-40% tax
£330 a month

Do any lease companies do a Tesla Y for £330 a month
Of course not

It’s a scam. They inflate the price before taking off the tax Trousering s fair amount.

The government should pull the schemes as it’s all a ripoff.

Or let you go straight to the manufacturer. Cut out the ripoff merchants who offer zero value.

Daughter's employer (a privatised part of the public sector) is looking at SS with Tusker. They've dismissed the idea for years but apparently they now think it's worth doing as they (the employer) could save a significant amount in employers NI and employer pension contributions.

Is it "fair" to look at the cost fully grossed up for tax, employees NI and employees pension? I think it is, and that makes the cost of the cars look completely insane. I had a look at Tuskers accounts - they're doing pretty well, unsurprisingly.

My company do their Salary Sacrifice via LeasePlan. I can get a Lexus RZ Takumi model on a 2 year, 10K miles per annum for £830.00 gross or £520.00 net per month. This includes protection pack £355.00, illuminated scuff plates £345.00, and a Home charger at £1310.00. P11D is £68,695.00. Obviously, it includes all servicing, insurance, tyres, etc. I have workout that charging from home will cost around £60.00 per month.

Do people think this is a good deal, having looked at other cars available for a similar cost it seems the best specification of any current BEV available at the moment.

I had a 24 hour test drive of a RZ Premium last weekend, and it is a very smooth, comfortable car, but the specification didn’t really do it for me, hence the Takumi model would be the only one I would consider.

I currently have an Infiniti QX70, spending £675 for tax per year, £260.00 for diesel per month, and amortising insurance, servicing, and maintenance of around £200.00 per month. Total for this is around £516.25 per month. The car is 11 years old, and has been exceptionally reliable, but I know it is going to need tyres and brakes within the next year which will cost around £1500.00.

I’ve bought cars outright for the past 20+ years, but think having a monthly payment for all costs excluding charging it seems prudent in the current climate. Happy to hear people’s opinions, thanks.

Numbers differ between employers.

For example, does your employer give back the NI savings? Some don't, this will make a difference on the price you pay

Interesting, I'm 40% taxpayer but Octopus net is £787/month on 24/10000.

Our employer does give back NI savings.

The final numbers will depend on your individual circumstances.
Where you leave, how old you are, another name drivers etc.
Within the same leasing company that should be minimal IMHO.
Across leasing companies, it kind of shows who fleeces us the most.

True, I also have my partner down on the insurance, off street parking etc so assume some of that price difference is due to the above.
