Tricky question. I would certainly never buy another ice car as a daily and very likely never buy a brand new ice car ever again.

October will see our first anniversary of EV ownership and yes its great to go for a pint of milk but offers little in the way of desire or driver engagement.
We always charge at home and I wouldn't even consider a journey in it where I woukd need to charge it up on route or to get home.
Far too many public chargers are either broken, require another different app, are blocked by a phev for hours on end and it just causes anxiety.
Range anxiety is also a true thing and it can bother you.
That said they are highly efficient , cost peanuts to run (once you've bought it) and are very quiet and relaxing.
Woukd I replace it with another EV......I'm not sure.....I may but then I'm not feeling compelled too either so the 'living with it' experience hasn't fully convinced me they are the future.
I should say that I have a motorbike and an ice car too and I much prefer going out on/in them but If I just need a pint of milk I know which keys I tend to grab

Unequivocally, I will never buy another ICE vehicle.

New MG ZS EV on order - have a 98 Honda Logo and 91 Prelude for occasional longer trip.
i took my mg zs to france and back 1350 mile round trip. plenty of fast chargers to use if you plan before hand.

That’s not range anxiety, it’s charge anxiety.

Different issue that needs a different solution.

I would only buy an ICE again if it was something special (perhaps another TVR) or something cheap and fun as a 2nd car if affordability of two EVs becomes a problem (thinking of a Fiat Panda 4x4!).

We currently have a Tesla M3 SR+ and a MINI E. I've just bought an E85 Z4 3.0i manual driving

The Tesla goes back early 2024 and maybe replaced by a van (for cycle/tip stuff). We will always have an EV now, so the MINI Electric maybe replaced by another one at the same time through my work's scheme. The Z4 is staying smile

Can't see me buying a brand new ICE car ever again. EV is great for the everyday dull stuff, and older ICE cars for fun.

A good mix of responses.

I think this one sums up my own views best:

Admittedly I’m only 300 miles in my first EV car and able to charge from home, but I already know that going back to ICE would be like going back to my old Nokia from my first IPhone.
Owning an EV, which definitely can't tick every box, has knocked a lot of the fun out of driving, taxing, maintaining, MOTing and fuelling ICE cars which undoubtedly tick the last few boxes better than an EV (for now). The scales of benefit / hassle have tipped in favour of EV for good (for me).

I owned a Tesla Model 3 for 2.5 years, I chopped it in for a Mitsubishi Evo 9 and never looked back. I daily my Evo and it's just smiles for miles. The running costs of the Evo are approx the same as the lease cost of the Tesla.

The Tesla became frustrating with their updates making the software worse (in my opinion). I'd probably never get another EV.

I have zero regrets in going back to ICE.

It's hard to know. Here in Northern Ireland the infrastructure is very poor. There are no Superchargers in Northern Ireland and I was promised that there would be when I bought my Model 3 back in March. You cannot go anywhere far from home (100 miles +) and depend on a functioning charging station. This is very disappointing and a local garage to me has a lovely BMW 520d with 500 miles on the clock. It's the highest specification and I am very tempted to swap. There's part of me that wants to hold on as I know things will improve but boy is it slow.

We use our EV as a run around and for that the EV is excellent. We will likely replace that with another EV.

I couldn't use it as the main car as we need something that can do more miles without the need to stop and charge. For that purpose I'm going HEV and suspect the next car after that will be an EV once the infrastrucure or technology has caught up.

If I can avoid it personally not.

I find the whole EV experience better... but saying that, it might be an age/circumstance thing. I think having been through a variety of ICE cars, the EV in general meets more of my current requirements, plus I have solar panels and off-street charging at home. Not to say that my feelings might not change.

I feel I should clarify a little in that my family isn't completely converted, my wife still wants an ICE car and my eight year old doesn't care so much but he does have a preference to the EV (well actually his favourite is the Elgrand, but thats an extended family holiday car). To be honest my EV is a luxury, if I had to, I would go back to ICE without a second thought.

Six months and 8k miles into first EV ownership, I certainly wouldn't go back if I could help it, at least while I'm still commuting.
Current plan is to extend the lease on the mighty e-up from 2024 to 2025 if at all possible, by which time the Cupra Urban Rebel or VW ID2 should be available.

Yes because I love cars. I would also consider an EV daily nothing against them.

Possibly, mostly because if I bought another car in the medium term future it would be a pickup truck and there are no electric pickup trucks available yet (in the UK). I have a petrol car which is about 6 months old so I expect that to last quite a few years, hopefully by the time it's due a replacement electric cars will have progressed to the point they are a no-brainer. I doubt I'll miss internal combustion when the time comes.

If I had to replace my car now I would be 50/50 on whether to go electric or petrol.

Prefer to stop on rare long Journeys generally in summer rather than fill the tank once a week that then makes the commute longer in all weathers…

The convenience thing is a myth IMO. It genuinely annoys me if driving ICE to work only to realise you need fuel
In the morning or on the way back.

Surely its worse if you realise your EV is flat and you need to go somewhere.

^^^^^^^^this

I don't understand that thoughtbprocess at all. Spending 5 mins filling up with fuel annoys so much but having to charge up for 5 times longer(?) And probably more frequently too doesn't??
I say that given most EV have a smaller range than most ICE so need charged more frequently.
I get you may prefer EV , I can get that but the reasoning doesn't make sense to me.

Or, for me, only need to fill tank up once a month, rather than charge every night ‘just in case’.
