Volvo EX30 thread
Discussion
Pricing is finally up on my work salary sacrifice scheme.
Top spec EX30 (Twin Performance Ultra) is slightly more expensive than the top spec XC40 (Recharge Twin Ultimate) that I currently have on order.
P11d is £44,440 v £61,850 respectively.
Hard to grapple with the logic of that.
Then again, ever since I start looking at cars via the scheme I've found pricing to flip between absurd and predatory.
EX30 is probably too small for us, but now pretty relieved I didn't hang on for it expecting it to be significantly cheaper than the XC40 (which wouldn't have been an unreasonable assumption given the gulf between P11d!)

So will they do a Lotus version of the EX30 / Smart #1 / Zeekr X?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo4YwpbxEDY

Comparing Zeekr to EX30, rear seat space isn't as good in the EX30, it was tight for him in that. From what I've seen of the Smart #1 (There's no Autogefuhl video yet) rear space is ok and it has a sliding rear seat too.
Thomas on Autogefuhl is 6'2", the internet says Tom Ford is 6" and I don't know how tall the What Car guy is.
Zeekr - Autogefuhl
Volvo - Autogefuhl https://youtu.be/igRDY0u_4hE
Smart - Electrifying https://youtu.be/j9avAQw-6D0
Smart - What Car - https://youtu.be/1GyzEn25i5Q
Volvo seems to have for some reason blown their rear space. It was always good before, but now is poor.
Even the ex90 doesn't have much rear seat space, and the extra seats in the rear are very poor.
Contrast that to the Id big buzz 7 seat version which has loads.
It's bad that the sister car to the ex30 has more space.

Finally popped up on Carwow and leasing websites and the numbers are ridiculous. They must be expecting the residuals to be utter garbage with the numbers being quoted.
OH was genuinely interested (she likes the way it looks in blue, nothing else really matters) but screw those numbers and 10% APR.
Megane E-tech (higher RRP and range) is £110 a month cheaper on the same terms....

Maybe Volvo don't feel they are competing with Renault.....who knows.OH was genuinely interested (she likes the way it looks in blue, nothing else really matters) but screw those numbers and 10% APR.

Were the list prices similar?

A few new videos on the EX30 have been released today. For Fully Charged they've got 6'5" tall guy and Polestar owner Jack Scarlett. That rear seat is definitely for kids and shortarses. The rest of it looks good though.
Him in the Smart #1 a while ago (pre EX30 release) that's on the same platform and I'm guessing the sliding seat in the Smart is set all the way back, as the boot is slightly smaller than the Volvo with the seat in that position. Loads of space.

I'm looking to order the RWD Extended Range, base yellow with green interior. Apparently the car will be doing a tour of dealers in August, i'm just really intrigued to see the space on offer.
I really don't understand how it can have such poor rear legroom AND a small boot?! It's identical in size to a Skoda Kamiq, which has a petrol engine up front, and that has a bigger rear cabin and boot. It's just weird.

I'd go for the basic spec, with the £7.2k twin motor upgrade, in black with the weird green interior (so I don't have to stare at public-toilet eggshell).
Seems really good value. The only obvious downside is the lack of a heat pump.
I thought heat pump was standard - do you have a source for this statement?Seems really good value. The only obvious downside is the lack of a heat pump.

Ordered and XC40 Twin Ultimate for Nov delivery - on the company car scheme nothing came close price wise, anything the same RRP was £100-150 more per month, I assumend due to Volvo giving Lex a great deal to shift metal? It's standard on Plus and Ultimate, but not on Core.
Thanks. I didn't think Core had been released yet - but I live in the old fasioned world of buying cars, not leasing themETA, I said "Ultimate" above, meant Ultra.
I still find it hard to determine how useful the heat pump really is tbh.
