How do you switch it off?

I've had one instance so far where my car was still 40% in the morning. Thank goodness for the REx. Last night I had to bump charge as it set the charge schedule for 9:00pm the next day!

I don't mind as it's a beta product and given what it represents, am happy to put up with some glitches. But it would be good to know how to turn it off when necessary.

Brilliant, thank you.

I'm going to keep faith with it and get in touch with Octopus if I get this regularly. Their customer service seems to be pretty decent so give me the impression that they want the feedback.

I could be deluded though so will just switch off if I don't get any joy!

Really? I didn't realise so is useful to know.

Is that generally the issue then i.e. our cars and not Octopus?

I've had a few flakey moments with my ipace but I don't mind, I just keep half an eye on whether or not it's charging when it should be - according to the charge plan octopus gives me each time I plug in.

I'm forgiving because this is a first attempt at getting the nat grid to connect it's systems to Octopus, then Octopus to bridge their software to each manufacturer to get it all to work in sync. It doesn't sound hard but with each person in the chain endlessly updating their own part of the system it's probably a lot to keep on top of and make work seamlessly.

It'll definitely get there though, it's the obvious solution to a more efficient grid and use of renewable power and for one the UK is leading the way, the smart way.

Both my car (Cupra) and charger ohme pro are both compatible. It linked to the car, but was struggling what to set the ohme app to, so it just utilises the car for the smart charging. Is it just a case of turning everything off on the ohme app?

Also, if you want to see schedule from ohme app, you should be able to find it in your android notification history.

Mine seems to be working fine via ohme app

I've always cheated and set my car to start charging at 23:30.

That way if IO doesn't start it, it'll start itself. Since I started doing that (a year plus ago), I've not had any problems.

I've been using IO with a Easee charger and BMW iX for 6 months. Never had an issue with IO sending start/stop times to the car. Everything works perfectly, even though it's a beta product.

Maybe some BMW models have issues, and some don't?

Why can't the timings be sent to the charger? That's how I assumed it worked.

Ah, I've got the Ohme from Octopus so I assume that will be OK.

For anyone who has a Tesla and a Zappi with IO, I think I have found the method to make it work reliably even though the Zappi is not supported by Octopus.

1. Set Zappi to FAST mode
2. Plug Tesla in and it will start to charge immediately
3. In the Tesla app, tap "Stop Charging"
4. In the Octopus app, set your charge limit (same as the Tesla charge limit) and ready time, and save.

A bit of a faff, but it always seems to work for me. Anyone know a better or different method?

This step should not be necessary as Octopus will automatically stop the charge as soon as it is detected by them.

Just had an email from Octopus, they've added more compatible cars to the list, but not mine yet unfortunately!

What was added? My app still shows all the same makes, I think.

1. Set Zappi to FAST mode
2. Plug Tesla in and let Octopus do the rest

Does anyone know where to see how much it actually costs them to charge?

I've just recently joined IO and it's great. I can see my usage and I can use that to work out how much it cost to charge. For example, let's say my car used 60kWh to charge, so that would be 60 x 0.075 = £4.50 to charge my car.

But I would like to see that £4.50 somewhere. The octopus app doesn't show cost for this tariff (not yet supported). I used to use Loop to show usage and costs, but that's not compatible with IO, so any other ideas?
