and even with the drop in EV values they are still very expensive.
I think some of these are starting to look like great value. Personally I think the iPace is a cracking drive (I have no ownership experience so not familiar with faults). I very nearly bought one but in the end went the Taycan route. I’m still considering an iPace as an option for a nice runaround but need to do some more research first.

The way you have worded this makes me think you have not sat in either of these cars. If you had, you would know it was utter nonsense.

Unless you are being ironic, and bemoaning Ford's packaging. They have designed an anti-TARDIS.

The I-Pace does have the classic Jag problem of slightly less rear seat space then you'd expect for the vehicle.

That's true. It's more than adequate/competitive compared to most mid-sized SUV's I would say, but still somehow less than you would expect on the outside! I think the design of the rear doors cuts in to the space a lot. They have also raised the rear seat height above the fronts to allow a better seating position and less need to stretch your legs out, so it's not uncomfortable at all imo, just not huge. The pano roof makes the space feel a lot bigger and also improves headroom quite a bit.

I had a good look around a mach-e and they're a world apart in terms of interior luxury/feel too. They're put together just fine, like pretty much all modern cars are. But I really don't see an iPace driver getting out of their car and into a mach-e and feeling like it's a comparable experience.

Not intended to be anti mach-e at all, they're well designed cars, probably great family all rounders and well specified overall. But, there is a difference.

The Jag is definitely a nice place to be.

My opinion based on guess what….having driven both. I found the Mustang felt slightly bigger internally and was suggesting it as a possible alternative as cheap used. So not utter nonsense merely my view from the position of a potential owner of both.

I’m a serial JLR owner, Range Rovers and now a Defender. I wouldn’t suggest the Mustang was better than the Jag re interior. In fact we were slightly underwhelmed by the Mach e in the way you described. It just doesn’t feel anymore special than a Transit Connect.

I think I've hit upon my spec - trouble is its quite hard to find:

HSE, 360 cam, HUD, ivory 14 way heated & cooled performance seats, air suspension, active dynamics, 20 inch alloys, blue or red. Now its just a case of waiting for the right car (ideally a 2021 MY)

So top spec basically?

Can you get heated steering wheels?

Yes, and all HSE's apart from the latest ones have it as standard - along with heated/cooled front seats.

You can push the spec further in a few ways, but the chances are most HSE's will have a coulpe of additional options ticked - pano roof, extended leather, 4 zone climate etc.

Thanks, that's all good to know. When you say the latest HSE, do you mean the facelift ones with the smooth grill?

HSE will be pano roof as standard aswell. 4 zone is a bit of pain as takes away so much console storage.

I can't remember when the HSE spec changed relative to the facelift tbh. I think that the facelift cars maintained the original HSE spec, but then more recently they took a load of kit off the HSE and created a new 'Sport' variant which has all the missing kit - essentially becoming the new 'HSE' (traditionally HSE was top trim for standard JLR cars).

They also buggered abut with spec during the chip/component shortage so there is no guarantee that a later year used car will have the full spec it was originally marketed as having. Those 21' and earlier will do though.

Google " I-Pace heater problems" which was the reason why I decided to pass on an older one in the more reasonable price range.
Certainly wouldn't own one without warranty

It was a problem with earlier iPaces, and an even bigger one for Porsche and Audi (? same supplier as Jaguar / Magna Steyr). At one stage our local OPC had 14 Taycans in its compound waiting for new heaters. But updated parts should have fixed most affected cars under warranty.

Interesting to know if it was the same supplier. I spoke to a local OPC earlier this year when I was selling my second Taycan. The number I was told wasn’t 14 but over 40! That was the point I knew I had to get rid.
