EQC anyone?

Thinking of getting one for £46k with a trade in £33k
Just not sure it’s a lot of cash but I can’t find anything else I like as much

I have the impression the real world efficiency isn't that great, and thus the range not what you might expect for 80 kWh. Having said that, the one owner I met was very happy, and obviously if you don't need longer range then it's not an issue.

We really like ours.

15000 miles now.

Reality is about 2.4 (electric mpg equivalent thingys) and a full charge gets us about 200 miles all year round.

Gets treated as a normal car, no hyper miling techniques.

Will actually be a bit sad when the leasing company has it back.

I’ve had mine just over 3 years. I really like it, great car- nice to drive.

At best the range (the way I drive anyway) is 200 miles in ok weather. When it’s 5 degrees ish or less, closer to 180

Just to confirm folks; that's 200 miles from 80kwh battery!!!

Wow that's got to be the worst eff I've come across for "normal" driving.

However i imagine it's a great place to be in for those 200 miles.

The best thing about the Mercedes for me is the steering wheel paddles control the regen level.

Normal regenerative level 0 as default.

Flick the right paddle it goes into a freewheel mode which is lovely on the motorway.

Flick the left paddle & you get 2 levels of regeneration.
The most aggressive allows for one pedal driving.

Once accustomed to it it feels like engine braking, dropping down through the gears coming to a corner.

Only EV I have driven that does it like that & frankly it’s how it should be done.

The eTron does it exactly the same, and agree it's a fantastic setup.

The EQC is very refined, more than quick enough and well put together. Only downsides for me are the woeful efficiency/range (even compared to an eTron) and it being a bit of reverse Tardis space wise. If neither of those things are a concern then it's a very good car.

Pretty sure Hyundai/Kia also use paddles for regen too. It seems to be becoming something of a standard approach.

I've had mine since Feb and im really pleased with it so wouldn't hesitate to recommend one.

According to my MercedesMe app.

Distance covered - 7775.8 miles
Average speed - 32mph
Average consumption - 2.9mpKWh

Which is better than I was expecting when I got it.

Only potential issue is they are still loosing quite a bit in depreciation; however, my exposure has been limited as I got a £9000 deposit contribution from Mercedes.

Should I be worried that motorway valued it £11k less than what it’s currently worth with the dealer right now?

But on other cars like an bmw i4 the valuation is only 4k less

It’s up for £35k with my part ex and they have given it a guaranteed future value in 4 years of £25k

However I’d probably pay cash

The only EV’s I have driven are a Tesla Roadster (hardly representative) and the iPace, IX3 & Tesla X when looking at our current EQC.

I didn’t drive the Audi because the dealer forgot we had booked a test drive an made no effort to sort anything out, just suggested we re-book and next time double check the day before.
I wonder if car manufacturers knew that that kind of lost sale when balanced against advertising to get people in probably undoes their entire TV ad budget.

Depends on the spec and age.

At £46k I would be expecting a maximum 2 year old car in a minimum premium spec.

Circa £40k at 3 years old and £50k at 1 year old I think is good value; however, trade in values on any EV are woeful at the moment.

They are pricing in the risk for potential sudden drops when Elon opens his mouth!

I’d echo everything already said really.

Refined, comfy, fast. Feels premium inside.
Handles ok for the style of car, certainly better than the X-Trail I used to have.
Not as big inside as you’d expect.
Range 200miles which is or isn’t a problem depending on your driving profile.

Why you want to waste your cash on an overpriced and outdated EV like an EQC that's not even been designed as an EV from the ground up and is merely some transition tech from MB that they rushed to market?

Coming out of a c class I can’t find anything else I like.

Not a fan of the Etron, can’t stand the Teslas - don’t like the I pace shape so this ticks the box.

I don’t need a massive 300+ range and got a deal for a 6 month old Premium Plus car for under £50k
