I have thoroughly enjoyed 3 years of EQC use, with just over 32,000 miles clocked up over that time. Mostly local journeys but a monthly trip to Leeds and/or Liverpool from Kent is the only reason I've not extended my lease, as I'd like a bit more range and faster charging capability, so I'm swapping for iX3.

How are you all getting on with your EQCs?

Thinking of picking one up in about a month or so.

Love mine.

Honestly feels as luxurious and as refined an S Class, goes like absolute stink, is a looker imo and is very “natural” for an electric car.

That's great to hear. Thanks.

Seconded and pleasantly surprised by the average 2.8m/kw over 9400 miles.

How did you manage that? Presume your driving is mostly 30-40mph flowing traffic, as opposed to bumper to bumper stop start or motorway miles?

We picked ours up in November and I think we're averaging 2 mper kwh. Although I did see 3.1mpkwh yesterday in the slightly warmer weather we have just now.

My daily to work is a mix of 10 miles motorway and 15 miles national speed limit A roads, so pretty free flowing. My long term average speed is just 32mph though.

I’ve had mine since March 23 so I would expect your average to rise over the summer months.

Only a month into ownership but the wife loves the car. It has a luxury and quality feel and very well put together.

Up to 5k on ours, 2023 Premium Plus. Bought it as the wife liked how it was based on a car, so ‘normal’ interior but it really isn’t a suitable car for longer journeys. Real world range is 140 miles. We always charge to 100%, use AC, heated seats and sit around 80mph on motorway.

Really comfortable car, well equipped, LED lights are superb and torque is immense. Negatives lots of torque steer, understeer and really have to watch the weight at speed when cornering. Also had quite a few problems with ours. Laggy UI hasn’t been resolved despite lots of updates and coolant light continually comes on.

Hmm, that's odd, we get 190 miles out of ours on a motorway run driven normally( ie between 70 and 80mph, rarely over 85mph, with cabin set to 21c, ac on, heated seats on )in winter, expect that to increase a little with warmer weather,no issues with ui or coolant etc. 2021 model.

With regards to the coolant I did read that some eqc had been fitted with the wrong coolant cap and this caused warning lights, there was a dealer fix to put the correct cap on.

Edited to add : The range estimate display sometimes does show a range between 150 and 160 miles but thats when I've been doing loads of really short journeys , but if I go on a long journey it'll do 190 miles regardless of what the range display said at the start of the journey.

I get a real world range of around 205 miles on a mixed commute into London.

140 is shocking.

Terrible range for 80kwh when you see what Tesla gets with 75kwh on a MY LR. However this is built better and a lovely place to sit I am sure.

There are around 100 Dec reg'd '73 plates with delivery miles for £46k and less. That's catastrophic depreciation but brilliant value. This or a Peugeot E-2008?

They need to support it like Audi has done with the E Tron or these are going no where.

Tempted as a second short range EV to supplement the Tesla.

Into the last year of a 4 year lease now and would echo the comments about range - typically (in summer) about 200 miles and 180 miles in winter. If you're not doing 200 mile plus trips then its fantastic, if you are then plan ahead and use the following apps:

A Better Route Planner
Zap Map
Tesla app (will find you superchargers and destination chargers you can use)

Had a couple of issues with it. Water got into the air suspension pump and froze which killed the it and it needed a replacement air pump. The other problem is the flaps covering the jacking points drop off (lost 3 so far...).

I'm just over 2 yrs into a 4yr lease with Octopus and still loving mine.

Stats for me are;
18246 miles
30 days 6hrs and 5 mins of driving time
Average speed of 25mph
Average consumption 2.0 mpkWh

I find it massively comfortable, great for both town and motorway use. The B-roads I need to swap into sport suspension to stop the wallowiness if i'm pressing on as i've had the back wheels off the ground a few times over dips in the road which can be interesting.

I live in Aberdeen so the ave temp up here is clearly lower than further south and it shows on the range.
Best range ive seen was 221 miles, in summer i see around 200 during June, July and Aug but then more commonly 180-190 and then lowest about 165 in dead of winter.

However for my use that's fine. My commute is 5 miles each way daily.
When i do longer runs it's typically to Edinburgh which is 120 miles away so a short charge there and i'm home fine.

I have done the run to Goodwood a couple of times and will be doing so again in a few weeks. The overall journey was 1hr 40mins longer than had i been in an ICE car but timing my charges with lunch and dinner stops it really didn't feel like i was losing time at all.

I came out of an SQ5 which i loved as it was quick and handled well but I genuinely put the EQC above it in terms of and overall performer.

When i come to replace it i'll likely go with something else from the EQ range but the Macan EV is definitely catching my eye.

In terms of the financial side of things i felt that owning an EV was going to be a risky prospect given the penalties of being an early adopter usually. The lease I have with Octopus is great as i needn't worry about the end value at all.

Had mine 2 months so far, its nowhere near as good as the Polestar 2 it replaced in terms of efficiency, equipment, performance and how it drives. Its pretty quick 0-60 but if you floor it from 40/50 upwards it doesnt seem that fast at all and it dies off massively above 70/80 which the Polestar didnt.

Range wise 160/170 winter and 200/210 summer seems about right.

Upside is its very comfy and quiet, the interior is a nice place to sit and it rides well, however its going back in December after I have had it a year as only ordered as it was cheap on a salary sacrifice.

Unless its a very cheap deal I wouldnt bother, for the £440/450 ish a month with no deposit and insurance etc it runs me its a bargain.

I’d be interested to understand other owners driving styles as both the wife and I struggle to get over 150 the past few months.

We sit around 80 on the motorway, heater and a/c on, drive set to D-Auto and occasionally drive it quickly where we can. Usually journey is across country, Lakes to NE so overtaking slower cars on a roads.

I have noticed that having the heater on uses approx 24 miles of range based on 100% charge.

A lot of Chinese cars have been recalled due to coolant leaks. Ours isn’t and cap has been replaced 3 times. Garage can’t seem to understand the issue.

That’s pretty lousy compared to my experience; however, my driving style sounds a bit more relaxed.

I tend to set the cruise to 70 or a little over. I don’t use D-auto at all as I consider regular use of regen as wasting energy as you won’t get back anywhere as much as it took to get up to speed. I use the paddles regularly by dropping into D+ to coast (especially downhill) and moderate the minus strength as required.

Your driving style sounds similar to mine, except I don't use dauto, I use d+.

Are your tyres inflated correctly?

I use D, comfort, and get around 205-210 miles commuting into W London and back up into Home counties.

Im a light footer in the EQC - rarely floor it and I have the climate settings set to low.

On the Motorway i do sit at around 75mph.
