LOL glad I was able to provide some entertainment to this thread biglaugh

I’ve got one more dumb question :-) on the CVL ad for this deal it said it had heated seats but I don’t think mine has it.

I might pull CVL up about it and see what they say…

That’s very good of OSV.

When I looked it up I saw it was the only optional extra so not surprised it doesn’t have it added but yeah I think CVL should’ve communicated that.

I assume you can pre-heat the Maxus? If so, arguably heated seats become unnecessary. EV's take a few minutes to warm the entire cabin from cold so everything is warm enough.

I used to love heated seats back in the diesel days, a big diesel engine could run for ten miles ahead of getting warm enough to heat anything...

You can’t but to be fair it heats up VERY quickly, like 30 seconds quickly. The heating on this thing is very intense, so much so that I can’t have it on for more than 5 minutes without feeling uncomfortably hot.

And the heating is very linear, either cold or red hot without any correlation to what shows as the selected degree temperature. Still loving it though.

Wow, the literally took an ICE truck and threw the engine away and bunged in an electric motor then...

No wonder the AC has gone binary on/off only.

Nonetheless, at least the EV instant heat benefit remains - even if it's quite crude and not remotely operated...

Has anyone done any long trips in it yet? Is it close to the claimed range? I’ve only been doing short journeys in mine so far and it’s looking like a range of 140-150 miles.

On a separate note; any good solutions for the load bed? I’m probably going to get one of those covers for around £300 as can’t justify the more expensive ones for such a short lease. The only thing I don’t like about the £300 one I’ve seen is you have to remove the sports bars :-(

I've done one long trip, down to Somerset and back (105 miles each way).
Left with full charge, doing 65/70 90% motorway, when I got there was showing 104 miles remaining. I then charged up when I was there, can't member what percentage was, but showed 237 miles on the guess-ometer. So return journey of 105 miles, left with 109 miles on the gauge. So I reckon (on motorway) you'd be looking at about 170 miles to a full charge.
That was a cold day though with heater on and off.

Regards rear cover, I've just knocked up a cheap DIY job for now (18mm ply, hinged in the middle, covered with rubber matting). Apologies for the poor photo out of the window, but gives general idea.

Means I can keep the bars, when weather is better I'll make a nicer job of it. Another option is to look for covers/canopies for a double cab Isuzu Dmax, apparently these are very similar in size and can be made to fit.

Thanks for write up re the range. It’s given me a good idea of how it is on longer journeys. Tried to check it out on ABRP but they haven’t added the T90 to their list yet.

That DIY cover looks awesome! I’m going to look at getting something like that for mine. Does it do a good job at keep stuff dry? I literally need to use mine as a boot lol this is my daily family car lol I know it probably wasn’t the smartest purchase for that use but the deal was too good to pass up on and the timing was perfect.

Those wind deflectors look nice! I want to get a set and probably the bonnet guard too. I’d also like some roof rails/bars (not the functional ones) and maybe even some wheel arch covers. I’ve searched for them but haven’t been able to find any. I’ve seen them on the non EV T90 though so a bit surprised I couldn’t find them unless it’s a factory only option. I think those few bits make it look less “commercial”.

It's not 100% waterproof, still lets a few dribbles in but no worse than the factory versions (none of those are 100% either).
But I have a couple of these from Wickes in the back if I need to keep stuff waterproof. On offer at the moment too, well worth £15 to chuck in the back.

The DIY cover looks great. Does it sit on a steel angle (or similar) or does the bed already have a recess to support it?

Yeah you’re right, none of those covers are 100% waterproof so even less reason to cough up so much for one! I saw a few covers on Amazon that hook on to stay in place but they don’t look as clean or sturdy as your solution.

If you could post some more close up pics of your DIY cover, whenever you have time, I’d be very grateful :-)

Fitted an aluminium angle just inside the rim of the bed, using the existing sports bar bolts. Using a 20mm angle and 18mm ply, means that the cover sits just about flush. I was in a bit of a rush when I glued the rubber over the top, so you could definitely get it flatter with a bit of patience. I hinged it (with a piano hinge) just where the sports bars end.

I did take a couple of pics when I did it, I’ll see if I saved them anywhere.

Can't you guys just bolt a vansafe box to the bed? Secure and will keep the rain out: https://www.google.com/search?q=vansafe+box&rl...

And when you hand the truck back, you get to keep a useful storage box.

Could do, but I didn't want to do anything that I couldn't remove without trace to send the lease back (ie drilling holes into the bed to fix a van safe).

Anyway, found a few pics of when I did it for those that were interested;

Biggest expense was the plywood but only about £80 all in. Happy with it so far. The next thing I may look at is the taillock kit. Was quoted £180 to get it fitted by Hardtops UK but you can actually buy the kit from Aliexpress for under £40 and it looks fairly straightforward to fit so will probably go that route.

Still loving the truck though.

There was one already charging at Woolley Edge services last Friday when I hooked up. It was huge, dwarfed the EV6

Thanks. I was going to do something similar for my old L200, maybe using hex pattern phenolic ply. I was thinking of adding some thin foam/rubber to the rail and some bonnet pins to stop it bouncing around.

Forgot to ask you, what deflectors are those? I’ve seen Team Heko ones and some cheaper ones on hardtopsuk.com
