Does this not go V2G? My MG 4 does I think it’s called V to Load. I was going to run the external Christmas lights off it.
Your external Christmas lights probably use very little power, isn't this a faff to save a few pence? - seems a shame to have your Christmas display plunge into darkness anytime you pop out for a drive biggrin

True V2G requires a car designed for it and also mods to the house to allow for the energy infeed to the grid.

V2L is indeed becoming quite common - it's useful and very easy to implement, especially true for larger practical vehicles where the on-board power supply can replace ICE generators when working remotely etc.
It was very much an idea based on “because I can” not because I needed to do it. I then looked at the cost of the official V2L adapter and thought it was a waste of money. Christmas lights are very cheap to run. It is though a useful feature on a commercial vehicle working remotely.

Indeed. Out of interest, how much is the adapter and how many amps can it supply?

Can’t see genuine MG ones now but they were about £125. E Bay have several non OEM

That looks genuinely useful for the money - £75 on ebay. If my car supported V2L I'd probably get one for the times I'm on site without an accessible mains socket for power tools/cordless tool batteries.

And the price deals get sillier and sillier:

1+11. £51 a month + VAT

All gone now, but even so...
I’d have snapped their hand off at that price.

In fact, anything under £100 pcm @10’000 miles be keen.

How long would one of these take to charge off a standard plug socket?

I'm a newbie to this. These prices are tempting.

Longer than you have got. I think they may all be gone. Probably about 40 hrs.

29 or so hours from empty to full roughly.

The deal is tempting, having sat in one, they’re a bit meh. The real world range is going to be like 160 miles I would guess. They’re 2wd only as well, which for a pickup is a bit pointless.

The deal is bonkers cheap though, if you can live with all that then it’s a no brainer!

I sent the link to my BiL and SiL as they are doing a big house renovation for the next 12/18 months with the intention of flipping it. This would be a very useful tool for them and dirt cheap to boot.

I’ve got one of these deals, slightly higher price at £150 month but for 18 months, with nothing up front. No brainer for me as I wanted something to replace my aging Vivaro van to just cart the dog round and tip runs etc. Over the summer I was putting nearly £200 a month in diesel in the Vivaro, so this is paying for its self really.

I’m lucky enough to have a big Maxus dealership just 3 miles away so went down there yesterday when these deals were about. The actual dealership couldn’t get near the price that the brokers were offering but the rep said that they’d received an email on Friday from Maxus to say maximise sales before year end.

So the van itself is ok, those calling it crap etc at the start of this thread might be a bit surprised, drives very smoothly and feels well put together. The infotainment screen looks a bit tacky but worked well (certainly no slower than the one in my iPace). The actual ride feels a bit agricultural but it’s a pick up, not a sports car. It is a bit quirky for an EV ( turn ignition key to turn on, actual dials on the dash, has an old school hand brake, no park function) but I quite like that as it’s a bit different. After seeing it I was under no doubt that the £100 odd they were asking was a steal.

Mine should be arriving in January so will be happy to give a mini review then if anyone wants it.

Just trying to find a cheap option for storage/cover on the flat bed now. The official roll top or hard top are silly money (nearly £2000 including vat), more than the cost of the lease! So looking at potentially a lock box and/or truck bed cargo bag, but will leave that til it arrives.

Is that the price from the dealer for the actual ones or the one that comes up when you Google it for that kind of price?

Test Drove one a while back, value wise seemed too good to be true (VAT back and 100% AIA). However, you get what you pay for... Ride was all over the place, fit and finish was poor and lacked basics (DAB?).

I believe this is the MG extender from Thailand? I looked under the bonnet and it looks like an engine has been pulled out and replaced an EV motor.

So spent a lot more and got something decent, the price is certainly eye catching though ..

That was one of the deals, central vehicle leasing.

There must still be some about got a call a moment ago saying they’ve got more stock (OSV), although a bit more now I think?

You gets whats you pay for..

Which makes the original £50k+ theoretical price tag a bit confusing! But at these prices, so long as it's faster than walking I reckon it's a fair deal smile

Nah they def go up to 80mph plenty of youtube views. It is slow for an EV though but not that slow.

This is the one. I'm surprised they've gone with using the Maxus branding over MG, guess it's to separate passenger and commercial brands in Europe. SAIC make a huge range of cars and they get badged differently in different markets.

Yeah it can’t just be me that thinks it’s daft having the “Maxus” brand stand alone. Even more so now they’re launching a car - the MIFA 9 people carrier thing.
