Done my 2 - will save 2 x 6months.

Interestingly, I read that cars on band A (currently zero rate) before 2017 will only go up to 20 quid a year, yet mine will be 180

I suppose I have done well for the last few years though.

Check it on the DVLA site, mine is due 1st April 2025 so will be charged not free.
I checked the DVLA tax website and it says:

So I will be invited to renew on 1 March.

You’ll be invited to renew on Feb 2025 as they want you to do it before it expires not afterwards.

Been driving EVs tax free since 2012 so it's a swine that shortly it'll cost more to tax an EV than a small fossil car! frown

My large fossil car (diesel) has been £30/£35 tax since 2014. 60+mpg. Under £300 full insurance. 650+ mile range, saw 800 once.
Best/longest i’ve owned a car (60s)
I’ll get a BEV when it finally dies though!
What is it?
Skoda Superb

Interesting. My EV was registered and taxed on the 28/03 but when I look it up on the DVLA it shows tax due 1 April 2025.

Brand new cars can be taxed for an additional week on first registration.

Thanks. Wish they hadn’t done so!

Just done mine, nothing to lose. Personally I doubt we will get a year free, well 11 months.

I think its most likely come March 25 we will get charged pro rata ... but who knows.
