Wondering if anyone here purchased/leased the Ariya and can chime on pros and cons of this e-SUV?

TIA

Looked at one as my next company car, I was looking at a fairly decent spec. The evolve comes with loads of kit and drives well enough, i found the UI a bit laggy and bits of the interior were cheap plastic. i think it looks great, but in reality the Kia and Hyundai EV's seem a better bet in this sector of the market.

Cheers

You can lease an EQC for a similar amount, should that float your boat...

Got a friend who’s got one and they think very highly of it. The only negative is they seem to be finding it very difficult to park and keep scratching it. I know all new cars are, but it seems particularly wide and theirs doesn’t have 360 cameras.

yup. i looked at this as my next SS car due to the low lease price; but it's huge.

Are they really that big? I’ve been looking at one for my parents and according to Carsized it’s only 1.6cm wider than my EQB, which I think is fairly compact for a medium/large SUV. The EQB was noticeably smaller than my old X-Trail, which I never had problems with due to size. I guess it depends what you’re used to?

Not sure how accurate autotrader is but it’s got the aryia being wider than the 2021 xtrail:

X

Aryia

And wider than the ecb

I had a good look at one while my qashqai was being serviced last week.
They are massive in the flesh, huge. I don't know if the stats above are correct & it's just an optical thing when you see the real thing but i would get an axtended test drive to ensure you are happy.

Thanks for the info, I’m not sure which is correct but it’s probably best to physically check incase one includes mirrors and another doesn’t, for example. My parents will be garaging theirs so width and length are definitely considerations. I’ll recommend an extended test drive to bring it home and see if it fits…

Ariya dimensions on carsized.com. So the auto trader width must be including mirrors.

Nissan leant me one for a day (long story). It was the top spec, lots of toys, plenty of power, but it felt really big and cumbersome. Range was good, I covered 200 miles in mixed driving, with over 100 left when I gave it back.

As a thing to drive though, from A to B, I much prefer my 10 year old Nissan Leaf.

Both myself and my wife test drove one when it was first launched and we both liked it but never took it any further, well until I spotted the lease deal on them and the wife has went ahead and ordered one on a 2yr lease deal ( perfect as it will let us see how we get on with our first EV especially the wife as she has been reluctant).
But I do have a friend who is a Nissan service manager who loves the one that his wife runs but he made a valid point that it’s not designed to blast A/B roads but let’s be fair I have never had a car just for A/B road blasts plus now there is way too many dash cams and lunatic cyclists on my local roads acting like they are part of a lost Tour de France peleton.

Probably one of the best of this medium sized SUV/crossover style cars out there. I rate these very highly and we awarded it the “Best Medium Sized EV” award in our 2023 Awards on our channel. Really good car. Love the interior, spacious and refined. Highly recommend one.

If this and the EQC were the same price, which would you go for?

I had a quick test drive in one. It's a totally normal sized family car, 185cm is the same width as the late Mondeo for example. I agree the extremities are a little hard to judge, maybe spring for the 360 degree camera view.

It feels a lot more upmarket than a Leaf, albeit it's a bigger car so less B-roadable perhaps.

There are two battery sizes so you'd want to consider your range needs.

I felt the floor was a bit high so I couldn't easily find a good driving position, but that depends on your body shape, size and seating position preferences. Also in the back it felt a bit knees-up.

I liked it overall and would definitely consider if in the market for this size of car.

( Or you could live dangerously and get a used I-Pace wink )

If you could get the EQC for 321.35 per month on a 2 year deal, I'd go for it.

The model I opted for also comes with the bigger 87Kwh battery and in the mid-tier trim (Advanced).

Just over £50K P11D.

Tempted to say the Ariya. Bespoke EV platform, feels more modern, and the interior is lovely. Drives well and I prefer the styling to the Mercedes. And I do like the EQC, but the Nissan would get my vote.

Had my evolve e4orce since July last year and done 16k so far, happy to help?

Apart from a recall visit for a couple of known bits with earlier cars it's given me no issues at all.

It's chunky (but no more so than many other mid-size SUV) but the short nose is good and the turning circle is excellent, plus the 360 camera makes life easy.

Interior space and layout is excellent.

All well specced, especially evolve trim and there really aren't any options to add, WAY better value in that respect than most other brands.

Heat pump is standard.

It's a genuinely lovely place to be and the high power models have plenty of go too (0-60 mid-5s).
