Queuing traffic has been an issue when chatting with the ACO, we have a plan for swift access to the site and local authorities will be aware of the event.

I'm sure we can't tempt you, but I wanted to comment to reassure those that are.

On the contrary, I could easily be tempted. But I just know what it's like getting around the circuit on Friday trying to avoid clowns dripping in Elizabeth Duke half sovs, thinking it's Little England and playing Billy big balls because daddies stood beside him half cut and sun burnt. I'll see how things plan out.

Yes I would imagine traffic could be an issue, that roundabout suffers massively on a Friday, I personally will look forward to it as a chance to see a few cars I wouldn't get chance to see normally and won't bring my mk4 golf as I'm sure everybody has seen 1 of those before getmecoat

I have to say I see these comments every year and yet every year I drive around all day on Friday without a problem. Most of those years have been in a Smart Roadster with the roof down too which surely is asking for trouble?

In my personal experience things are fine until early evening, by which time this meet will be long over and everyone safely tucked up back at their campsites.

Have to say chaps Im with Vette 1978 on this one frown I love the idea of a car meet but getting into that area on Mad Friday is a no no for me, The Muppet's with water pistols and beer in hand stepping out into the road and demanding you perform wheel spins is not for me. frown

Im not saying this will happen inside the parking area but we will be running the gauntlet trying to get to the event frown

I quite agree!

Well, we'll hopefully see you there as we only put these meets on for you guys to enjoy* and we are very excited to be able to arrange a larger (not lager!) PH meet overseas.

Looking forward to it..

I assume I can bring as many passengers as I can drive there without the gendarmes stopping me?

fatboy, you should be able to run the backroad from Arnage (or the main road for that matter) to get in and out.

Later in the afternoon it gets busy towards the circuit entrance with people (down last year thanks to the authorities) but unless in Tecnopark (sp?) it's easily avoided if needed. The route to Arnage is busy, but sensible due to police presence, so should be a simple run with regards to avoiding idiocy. At least, thats been my experience over the years.

We chose this field for the easy routes in and out, another they offered was right in the thick of it and was declined for that very reason.

Unfortunately, that roundabout is where a lot of the really mad stuff has tended to happen in recent years - close the the Danish mob in the local camping site seems to be a factor.

There was something about this on the 'Mad Friday' thread...

Danish mob arent there this year, that land at Porsche Curves is now an extension of the Travel Destinations Private Campsite.

For those of you not wanting to take your cars out (and those of you who are a bit lazy...!), the free tram goes all the way down to that roundabout on a very regular basis.

It wasn't that roundabout, it was the next one over (inside the circuit).

Going to try and get along. There are pros and cons with any site. That location can be very congested, but it is a good central location to the circuit.

Generally found during Friday morning and afternoon the roads around the circuit are reasonably quiet.

In fact, I thought the circuit was absolutely dead when I went down for the pit lane walk.

I think the worst of the problems around the circuit roads is later on in the evening.

I agree. Very rare to see anything other that French police on that roundabout.

What a very dim outlook on life you must have?! I personally don't want to take my car out on mad Friday, am camping within walking distance and wouldn't mind the comfort of having a couple of beers without having to worry about driving....

...which of course turns me into something off Cops With Cameras in your opinion?!

A slightly more open mind perhaps required.
The point I'm trying to make is that for the CBW, Bounty and Mulsanne meets people had to make an effort to go to them. So you'd have a nice drive out, have a wander and a chat, see some decent metal, have some food and most of the people there would be visiting for the same reasons. With this location it could lead to chaos on the interior roads if there are queues, which in turn leads to lots of sitting ducks for the idiots with waterpistols. So do I have a dim outlook and need more of an open mind? Maybe? Or can I just foresee what might be before it happens?
Perhaps I was in a slightly bad mood last night and wasn't completely fair in my reply.

I do think you're painting all of us who would prefer to attend "a pied" with slightly too broad a brush though. I appreciate that you clearly do get some people around on a Friday who are can be a bit of (or a lot of) a penis. However, the vast majority of us are still the same car enthusiasts who usually bring along their own cars so the inherent respect is there.

But, equally, we're on a bit of a holiday and wouldn't mind enjoying a couple of beers and not having to worry about having to use our legally required brethalyser too soon.. We'd still just like to walk around, take pictures of, talk about and enjoy some nice cars like we normally do at PH SS. I'd imagine 99% of the pedestrian attendees can manage this whilst having a few beers and not feeling the need to engage in anti-social behavour or otherwise.

As for the 1% that perhaps cannot, it sounds like Garlick and PH have the appropriate safeguards in place to counter this thumbup

I personally look forward to attending and hoping that most people do also smile

Yes its NOT that roundabout where the videos of the Mad Friday antics usually take place.

The Mad Friday (late afternoon / Evening) roundabout is on the Inside of the circuit just before the Houx Annex / Houx campsite. It can get very messy there! frown

The only problem I could see on That roundabout would be people queing to get to the Campsites of Beausejour, Karting Nord and Darion! The road going South off of that roundabout is sometimes closed off as the ACO bulldoze a huge pile of earth across the road to form the circuit! This would lead to only a couple of routes in?

Still Well Done Chaps for setting something up thumbup

There's gonna be countless impressive motors to look at in and around the circuit during the week so I don't see why the PH carpark should attract any more aholes than anywhere else? Surely it will mainly be PHers who want to get a closer look at each others cars even if they don't bring their own?
