Just watching the Moto GP and taking a look at the condition of the circuit/spectator/camping areas around the circuit.
It was raining constantly this morning and through the race but spectator positions looked in decent shape, noticed from one of the helicopter shots that Maison Blanch was not being used this weekend, looked very green.
I know there are a few LM based p'headers - how has the weather been in general these last few weeks, and any long range predictions of summer arriving any time soon ?

I can only remember 1 totally rain free year at LM in the last 10, mid 30's all week and way too hot.
I do think we have been lucky though - plenty of rain on the Weds/Thur/Fri but does seem to stay dry more often than not over the race weekend.
Was hoping that the walkways/spectator areas will hold up, nothing worse than a mudbath walking around the circuit.

Rain has continued today - its rubbish. If you want to know the local weather nearer the time, then keep an eye on this forecast. Just type Arnage into the box, if it is wrong location. You can even see what will happen in the next hour if you click the box with "Va-t-il pleuvoir dans l'heure?" on it. http://france.meteofrance.com/france/meteo?PREVISI...

I remember the rain in the late 90s, when Houx Annexe flooded in a flash flood. Some great sights, but a lot of very unhappy campers when they found there tents 9inches deep in water

In 2010 after a flash downpour the stream between the 2 camping areas of the annexe (nearest to the tram & entrance) decided to redivert straight through the camping area. People arrived to find they had a nice pond covering there pitch! Once some people dug all the leaves etc out the stream it returned to its correct course but it was muddy in that corner for the rest of the week!

2005 was a scorcher. People were scalding* themselves with the solar showers in a bag. - maybe not that warm but warmer than Arrrrrrrrrr which is the norm I'm guessing.
I remember having to find some shade from early in the morning.

The aerial shots were green as there has been a lot of rain and the grass has been growing well!.... the GP itself was perhaps the wettest for many a year but going round after the GP I didn't see many mud bogs, only the usual EU litter mountain. I think the ACO has been doing a lot of work to improve the draininge of some of the main sites. Not sure about the notorious sites on the south side tho' like Bsj. The rain which has been falling for about 7 out the last 8 weeks!.... simply MUST stop soon and will give the land time to dry out nicely.
