Official "Staying at home" LM24 2012 thread
Discussion
Yep gearing up for LM @ Home version 3.......
versions 1+2 have had casualties so hoping this year to keep it pain free!
For those who are bored .....last years write up here....
http://southernkitcars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1...
started the @Home experience 2 years back when one of our number couldnt make it....decided to re-enact the whole stay in 24 hrs: Convoy inc brekkie, back to mine to pop up the tents and marquee, freezer + sounds plugged in and the sprinter van for the big screen projection parked up for the evening session.....
Bikes to 'Arnage' with a crafty case of beer planted en-route for a stop off and then a full on pub crawl before heading back home.
unlike LM ( thank goodness) 1st year i dislocated my shoulder after simersaulting into a war memorial off teh bike at the bottom of a steep hill, 5 others fell off with just cuts, last year we had a 'corpse' who gamely played on despite a 'painful' wrist ( turned out it was broken 0 - that was found out after he passed out down the lane on the way home.....
back home BBQ fired up for the late night session and the race projected onto the sprinter via an uber long data cable for live streaming from E/Sport.....
Brekkie + Becks for the hardened, tea for the drivers!
Just about to start watching tonights paractice.....must be time for another Becks.....
( quite willing to play the LM game aside from that bloody awful Kronenburg).......

I'm at home for first time in 4 years due to first baby arriving 6 weeks ago... The boys are out there - regular text contact giving mixed feelings!!
Anyway, anyone else struggling with the Le Mans timing feed for quali sessions? Looks blank with no updates for me...?

At least the FIA WEC feed works:

Here's a lot of alternative live info too!!:

Stay at home for the first time in ages too.
Our first baby is due today.
Bad timing on my part - there needs to be a thread in September reminding us: "NO SEX THIS MONTH OR YOU MIGHT MISS LE MANS NEXT YEAR!!"
This is exactly my predicament! Not due just yet though. Our first baby is due today.

MTR
Too far to travel this year as the 23 hour flight is a) too long b) too expensive. Hoping to get to the race in 2013 or 14 along with the classis but have to fit in a BTaP too. The other side of the planet does not make any sense in PH world.
Will be following on radio Le Mans for most off the race. Still miss being there
PS - first wine box opened and half emptied whilst watching rugby league. Looking forward to the race starting at midnight on Saturday with croisants, bacon and cheese.

Well after 3 failed attempts in the last 3 years to go, 1st year, trip all booked, car then stolen 3 days before we set off. Wasn't really in the mood to go then funnily enough, and lat 2 years of purely being skint I'm determined that next year I will break my Le Mans cherry. In the mean time, Eurosport, live timing and twitter will be my friends this weekend. Some beer is needed though.
Dan, really sorry to hear about your car, hope things work out for you OK.Safe Le mans checking in here too.
Sadly two years running. ...
Last year I managed 18 hours then had to kip - think it coincided with me running out of beer too...
Anyway beer fridge is loaded up and I'll be having an early night to UHF got the NZ v Ire ten Oz v Wal then Le Mans with SA v Eng on the other screen. BBQ its raining here do will it on the grill instead.

Went 05 in 350Z, 06 in Lexus Ls400, 07 in Nissan Stagea, 08 in HSV GTSR this year taking kids to in Renault Kangoo for a trip on the miniature railway - how things have changed.......so will be watching on TV. Next year I am introducing my darling wife to the mud, fields, rain, sore legs, beer, sights and smells of the best race weekend in the world. We are planning to purchase a Tow-Mater with a tent n the back!
