This was my first time and what have I been missing for years!! 8 of us in 4 cars travelled from Caen to Le Mans, sometimes breaking a few speed limits but keeping it safe and having fun!! Stayed in Houx 200m from pit lanes (crow flies) and didnt stop laughing. The cars, the noise, the friendliness of everyone and the sound of those Audi's going past.....like a whisper!!
Shout if you saw us going there or back - Black C63AMG, Black 911 S, Silver Audi R8 & Silver Cayman S......
We have already started planning next year and we will be increasing the fleet and getting more of a theme for the team!!
So depressed to of 1) missed all these years & 2) to be back at my desk working!!!!
Awesome times! DJ

Glad it's not just me. I spend all year looking forward to le mans and then it's gone in a blink of an eye. This was my 10th consecutive year and I always feel this way come this time In June!
Mind you it's not all bad, I've managed to convince the girlfriend that she wants to go to Sebring next march!!

Yep, something about being in the company of good people for a few days or more, enjoying great times that makes coming home a bit of a sad moment. I've had the same feeling coming home, after every Le Mans. Its very true that every Le Mans is a different experience, but every trip seems to get better every time!

Yup same here. LM is definitely the highlight of the year for me - woe betide a year when I cannot go...

Absolutely. Everytime for a good week afterwards.
Wouldn't want the race to happen more than once a year though as it would dilute the feel of it.
I do still keep wondering whether it is time to push boundaries further, 80yrs on from the 1st race. I give you the Le Mans 48hrs!! Epic...

Yep. Saddest time of the year.
But only a mere 50 weeks or so for departure to Le Mans next year!

I get the post Le Mans blues every year, really badly. Find myself moping around for a few days afterwards. The other half hates it and thinks i should not go next year (you can imagine my response to her suggestion!). Still have all my camping gear sitting in my dining room, which needs to be put back into storage. Simply could not face doing it on Tuesday morning! A testament to a great trip i do feel. Anyway, planning for LM 2013 began yesterday and getting excited already!!!

Very much so, beer light has been flickering for the last 2 hours, sat at my desk in an office full of women explaining how my holiday was, who won, why they race around for 24 hours, did i win...... Completely blank faces.
Still, lots of cheese and Pate in the fridge to tuck in to when i get home.

I did LeMans for about 10 years on the trot and the depression that set in on the Monday was immense.
As Steve McQueen said in the film - Racing is life, everything else is just waiting .. or something like that.
The only way to get rid of the Le Mans roller coaster depression is to stop going and watch it on the tv. Sorry.

It is very depressing. The thing keeping me going this year is knowing I will be going to the classic in a couple of weeks for the first time. Agree what others have said, its always different and always awesome each year!

It's not just me then. It was my first year too and I'm pretty sure I won't miss another.
I reckon they should do the classic every year too so I can go to both next year!
It hurts being home!!!

The only way to avoid it is to ween yourself off gently and not go cold turkey!
I've spent every day since being home looking at our group's photos and videos and spent even more time looking at other peoples on the internet; Youtube is especially good. I also made sure to set sky+ to record the whole race before I left which I'm watching when I get withdrawl symptoms.
What a brilliant few days....
