Does anyone have any definitive info on kids tickets at the classic?
I bought me and my 2 boys (under 16) hard plastic general entry tickets which got us into some of the grand stands plus the paddocks. I later saw that kids go free however the boys had their tickets checked MANY times.
Did I need to buy them the tickets or would they have been admitted if I had a ticket?
Appreciated advice I don't want to waste another 120 quid in 2 years!

16 and under go free. Like most motorsport events.
You may struggle slightly with the main entrance gates, but you can request a free ticket for them - child only.
Of course if you want them to sit in a grandstand then you need to purchase one of those and possibly Paddock passes... Although they didn't seem to check them that much, if at all!
I took my nephew to the 24hrs a few years ago - he didn't have a GE ticket and took my son to the classic this year and he didn't have a GE ticket either. A quick "il n'eyn a pas" or something along those lines stopped the overkeen zappers from attempting to zap a non-existent ticket.
This is the reason you see a lot of French families go to the qualifying sessions. Adult GE tickets are cheap, grandstands are free and children, 16 and under free.

I can concur, I checked with the organisers before the event and as long as ID was present, children under 16 go free to all areas including paddocks.
Not tribune for obvious reasons.
