All joking apart, I heard this on the local radio. I don't expect you to be able to translate the French, but just a look at the photo will show you what type of weather they had 50 miles south of here during the night. Vineyards and fields of vegetables all destroyed. We had a violent storm - also of 10 mins duration - this morning. The weather really is changeable. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best I suppose but above all the indomitable British spirit will no doubt shine through.

McNish has had his flight diverted from Paris to Lyon due to thunderstorms and Karun Chandhook was woken at the circuit in his motorhome by the strong winds and heavy rain ! That would have caused carnage in the sites over the upcoming weekend .

We are currently around 100 miles south west of Le Mans and we suffered a violent storm last night; the hailstones smashed holes in the guttering, the grass in the paddock that was 1-2ft tall is now squashed onto the ground and the old mans car is peppered with little dents on the roof and bonnet. My brother put his tent up yesterday afternoon to let it air and withstood the storm so clearly us campers have nothing to worry about...

Very strange weather here at the moment. Yesterday was hot and sunny, last night was stormy and now today is hot and stormy. Odd.

i tested my tent in april in the top field at lydden hill, could barely stand up in the driving rain and winds but the tent with stood. Might have to pack a rain coat to go with my flip flops and shorts then

Well, we'll see how my £12 tent does again, eh? biggrin
It survived the down pours of last year's classic lemans, completely bone dry.

According to tweets on #LM24 it is raining at the Circuit de la Sarthe and the forecast is that it isn't going away this morning.
Me thinks hat I had better pack something for the wet weather programme.

It's looking like a bright but showery affair for Thursday to Monday. Rain due today, tail end of what we've got on the south coast. Picture is improving for later in the week.

6.45 am UK time, and it is a continuing story of steady but heavy rain all night and continuing. The updated forecast gives rain and perhaps local storms all day and a risk of storms through Wednesday and Thursday. Then things change for the better; No rain forecast for Friday and Saturday with a slight chance of a shower on Sunday. Might even be a dry race!

If you've been to LM before, you know you have to pack for both. It's been about 12years since the last completely dry week there, and by all accounts it was a bloody scorcher then - unbearably so.

I've a mate who's a marshal at Tertre Rouge and arrived on site yesterday, camped next to the marshal's post. He described last night as "monsoon like" and that a lot of the surrounding area's flooded.
