Anyone know how the new Porsche Experience Centre at Le Mans will affect the Maison Blanche campsite next year?

I think this looks more like Porsche curves where RD92 crosses. Hopefully Lowdrag will provide definitive answer.

I wouldn't be surprised if you can kiss goodbye to the whole maison blanche campsite. Unless they move the fair & hospitality which is usually behind the grass bank by chicanes. Maybe they'll open a gate further down to save part of it but if its anything like Silverstone, Porsche will have the full run of it for guest parking so you can also kiss goodbye to that grass bank viewing area too. Porsches turn for corporate takeover!

Actually I've looked on googles latest satellite image of Maison Blanche and it looks as though the Porsche centre and the campsite can co exist as long as they don't want to use the maison blanche circuit for VIP Porsche drives during the weekend. I was thinking they might add some terrain to it like at Silverstone but the new gravel traps and tarmac looks perfect for a spin in a Porsche and from the artist impression I think the 3000m2 building will sit on the tarmac over looking the 1st part of the chicane which might even leave the grass bank in 1 piece to view from!
I guess no one will know until Maison Blanche camping tickets are or aren't on sale at the end of this year!

Now, don't take this the wrong way, but I'd sooner see the new PEC at Le Mans than a field full of sweaty Brits in tents!

Well I would prefer they left the camping alone, another corporate area for the sort of people who are slowly ruining everything i liked about Le mans.

I know what you mean, but there has to be a balance. Porsche want to put their Experience Centre as near the circuit as possible and it's for year round use. They're back in LMP1 to help sell their cars. Surely Maison Blanche campers can relocate to another field for the 1 week a year that it's needed, and there will be almost zero impact on their experience.

FWIW, I don't think this is going to change LM one jot. I think a much more malign influence are all the pillocks who don't know how to behave, the numbers of whom have certainly gone up in recent years.

My concern is first the loss of Karting nord without an alternative site being created and now we could loose MB and potentially not have a replacement!

In the meanwhile, Beausejour stretches all the way to Tours....
Not a good development at all.

It looks to me that MB will lose part of the the fun fair/support race area near the entry to the Ford chicane. I wouldn't be too concerned about losing MB campsite.

The Porsche & prototype 'VIP' drives use the full circuit during LM 24 week, I went in 2012 & my partner last year, so again, MB camping won't be affected

Was this also mentioned on Radio LeMans towards the end of the race ?

Like previous comments, losing Karting Nord then MB will make it very difficult to justify trying to stay so close to the track. The Kartin Nord grandstands were hardly used other than for the first and last hours of the race.

Progress is all important and the Porsche Centre is superb at Silverstone, but camping at the circuit helps keep drunk drivers off the road.

Just hope they organise extra capacity at somewhere new or equally convenient for the circuit.

I suspect it will affect the camping and whole experience, we arrived at Houx to occupy our 16 pitches to find them already taken by people the ACO had moved there from other sites completely, not just other pitches at Houx. Many of whom had not paid for electricity but got it, meanwhile we were offered 7 pitches without power. Absolute disgrace

The nail in the coffin was probably caused by the d!ckheads that decided it'd be a good idea to burn car tyre bundles near the exit end of the site!

For many years setting up your site on Houx was a badge of honour and the last time we did it in 2009ish it cost each of us less than £250 for the whole weekend. Next year we are looking at having to go the SpeedLangoustineTrack route because the ACO seems to no longer want anyone staying on site who isn't prepared to loss half their kit or pay proper money. Many friends used to come along for the trip and a number of them had no interest in motorsport before attending Le Mans. Now most of them are priced out of the market unless they can afford to drop £600 a head.
