Association Football World Cup.

England's opening game kicks off at midnight (?) on Saturday night / Sunday morning.

I appreciate this is the middle of the race but for those who want to where are the best places to watch the game?

Think there's usually a screen near the guinness tent / bar at the top end of the pits / village.

Tertre Rouge / Stella Bar on the outside of Tertre rouge corner

Or in town: The Irish bar in Dr Leroy street which is between Prefecture (the one before republique) and republique square tram stops. Across the street, around the end of the building from Prefecture stop or down the street then immediate left in the corner of republique square where McDonalds is.

beer

Oh and on sky and freesat english channels via satellite (not sure about french channels)

Might add a double receiver to the satellite dish and take extra tv & skybox so we can watch both.
wink

I'm not a footy fan but I'll have to catch this one. Looking in to sat setups now......

Can you catch the match on UK freesat from a 60cm dish at Le Mans or would you have to find it on a French channel?

Must remember to avoid a TV around that time. Don't want to ruin a good weekend with that crap!

I rather fancy Radio LM might mention it in passing. frown

Being a follower of a struggling team I have enough on my plate without getting my hopes up for Engerlund. Their "performance" in South Africa last time and being in the "group of death" this time mean I'm fully expecting them not to get to the knock-out phase.

Standard sky dish with freesat or sky box picks up all the uk channels. The race is mainly on Eurosport 1 which you can get the german version for free if you point it at a different satellite then use Radio Le Mans for commentary. Much easier if someone brings their sky card with them from home though wink

We had the same stuff on the 'who's playing Le Mans' thread. Don't get the way this place takes such affront to people doing what they like at zero cost/impact to the party taking offence.

Why must people enjoy something in a set way?

Personally, for the atmosphere, I'm looking forward to Spain v Holland in town at 9pm on the Friday. With the added bonus that the le mans schedule doesn't clash with it at that time smile Up the Dutch! biggrin
