The ticketing website isn't giving me much luck with this: what exactly do you get for the paddock ticket? I'm under the impression that you can see the village, concours, clubs etc under a general admission ticket. So is the paddock ticket just a chance to wander round the team's "garages" and view the race cars a little more closely, or more than that?

Thank you smile

As far as i am aware it does exactly that, allow you into the paddock areas. Each grid has its own paddock area and if it's anything like 2012, then you can get up close and personal with the cars and teams. It is one of the reasons that we like the Classic is because all of the owners, mechanics etc., are so friendly and approachable. I asked a guy whether i could take some pictures round the back of a 917 and he said of course and then proceeded to open the bonnet and point things out, brilliant!

Bear in mind, there are over 300 competing cars, the paddock tickets are well worth the additional cost.

Yes. Be aware of dress code which is sometimes required but not necessarily enforced e.g. Trousers and shirt. We got I. With smart shorts, shirt etc and saw much more casual attire as well.

Agree with all the comments above, this is not like the usual race paddock and probably the best part of the classic, chance to talk to all sorts of people and also to see that not all of the cars are run by rich people with big budgets, info on each car above the garage (awning's with all the teams equipement and stuff underneath. Tickets can be purchased when you get there usually (don't have mine yet) During race/ practice it is a great place to be as the cars either leave or arrive and everything get very hectic
SO yes do get a paddock pass

Yup, what they all said. These are my photos from the paddocks in 2012:

Yes I guess so. It's very friendly and open and you can get a good look at all the cars

You need to have Paddock tickets or you will miss (the best) half of the event.

I'm booked with PH/1st Tickets and was told it includes a paddock pass?

Can you confirm this is the case?
