2014 Le mans Classic, Picture thread.

Sounds so easy!
But there was 4 hours of parade laps on the Saturday morning, so many cars in each group, and we can not advertise we are taking photos to sell! It takes so much to get the accreditation, and in 2012 they only let me work for 3 hours a day, and they wanted to make the parade laps my 3 hours for the Saturday.
Some people you still don't see / photograph as cars end up in groups, and you can't photograph everyone.
The theme parks design cameras into the system and they know you only get 1 group to look at photos, at LMC you get say 20 mins worth of cars over 2 or 3 laps, and everyone comes along together. It just does not work.
In theme parks you are also strapped to a seat so you will always be in the same place, on a track cars were all over the place!!
Then what do you do with the image if someone wants it. Not easy to print from a car & that takes too much time. I was emailing out the original file but there's no wifi around the circuit, and each file my cameras 9-16mgbite per photo.
Please find a solution for next time!!!
If you post them on the web most people are happy just to grab the image for a screen saver, and even my friends tell me they do that with my images.
And that's why I stayed in bed and had breakfast this year.

Have to say I was thinking along the lines of the ACO installing the cameras and monies would go to them rather than an individual.
I have done track days at Silverstone and come away with a good pic of my car on track in a cardboard frame saying Silverstone, so I don't know why it could not be done at Le mans, sure you are unlikely to get Everyone, but if there were two different places set up on track, Digital cameras can work wonders now days And if Drivers knew the spot im sure there would be a few cars swinging over towards the cameras.
I'm just throwing up ideas here

Fatboy18, I presume at Silverstone there was still a photographer operating the camera, I did not think they have any cameras except CCTV last time I spoke with them. Could be wring, and I will have a look next weekend at Silverstone classic.
Yes, it was a few years ago now but yes. You're right it was a photographer who was stationed track side but the package was you left the track at the end of the day with a 12 x 8 photo with a cardboard frame and the words 'Silverstone' printed on the frame It worked for me and I bought the pic
As for places to take pics at Le mans, Ford chicane comes to mind as a slow place to catch the cars at a bit of an angle and of course Dunlop Bridge, personally Tet rouge corner with the trees and Stella bar in the background would be good but that is not the slowest of places!
As I said, just throwing up thoughts here, happy to debate
Here's the Silverstone pic
