Ooops. Endurance driver lasted only one lap in The Belgian Grand Prix before his Caterham went dead. Shame there was no mention of his Le Mans palmares on the Beeb coverage of the race.

I must have missed it then. paperbag

Apparently he out qualified his team-mate by a whole second. I wonder if Caterham will let him have another go.

I would love to hear an interview on the differences between F1 and Le Man from his point of view. I mean speed wise LMP1 are as fast as F1

He did say that the Audi carries more speed through the corners, which isn't a great surprise from a full bodied car I guess.

He was saying that the F1 has more power than the R18 but that the Michelin boots on the R18 are better than the Pirellis on the Caterham so they can commit more to the corners in the R18. He also mentioned that his instinct when getting out of the car was to loosen the belts before unbuckling.

Still must be one hell of a transition In F1 you never get a second everything is on you every lap, where as I have heard Le Man drivers saying you do get to catch your breath when on the Mulsanne .

re: Michelin.. IMHO they're sorely missed in F1 and MotoGP.

Are they?

Pirelli are making the tyres with the performance differences and degredation characteristics the FIA mandated. If Michelin were the sole F1 tyre supplier they would have to deliver to those same requirements and so deliver a very similar tyre.

Given the types of tyre they are being asked to make I doubt Michelin are missing F1. Hell, I doubt Pirelli really want to be there!
