Hi All.

Just wondered if anyone knew the exact position of the new Epinettes campsite?

Here's my guess. Anyone know for definite?

It looks as if that will be the location. I am meeting the ACO on Friday and will obtain confirmation and take some photos if possible.

Cool. Thanks. I bet everyone will start asking where it is in the next few weeks.

Not a bad position if that's where it is. 1500 pitches should ease the pressure on all the other campsites too.

Hopefully (though against all experience) they will put some traffic control in place.

If they had no left turns off of the avenue of beef and sent all Houx/Annex traffic round the back of the Annex, with just a Houx/Annex ticket check at the football stadium end of the road there would be loads of space for cars to queue while tickets get a proper check at the campsite gates/you waited for someone with no sense of direction to flop on to a bike and cycle randomly around the site looking for your space. This would leave the main road free for other traffic.

Did not really understand the last post...

But this does not look like a good option, that is a hell of a staggering distance from the village, prob best not to leave the tent

Compared to what? Beausejour?

I think it might be a good option compared to blue nord, blue sud, Beausejour, all the other yellows and maybe expo. Also good for the tram for shopping / town.

From that point you've got a lot of options.

Down road to Porsche Curves

Up through Houx to pits

Up lane and over Bugatti bridge then left to the back of pits or right and through underpasses to dunlop bridge

In main pedestrian entrance near tram stop then right to S's / Tertre Rouge or left to underpasses for pits / dunlop bridge

I actually think it is an OK location (if that is correct on the map).
At least it is up the north end of the track and not down at Arnage & beyond.
I guess the ACO are running out of land to use, but it doesn't look much further to walk than Houx to me.
Does anyone know if it is marked plots like Houx?

From the ACO site:
NEW! Located in the heart of the circuit and nearby the tramway terminus (Antarès/MMArena), this camping area accessible to cars + tent/caravan or camper vans is recommended if you wish to access to grandstand Stands (34), to the Village and to the Paddocks.

From Tours or Orléans, you need to follow the VERT itinerary when arriving in the circuit surroundings.

Details:

- Open from Sunday, 7th to Sunday, 14th June.

- Price per vehicle for a 35m² pitch (1 ticket = 1 vehicle = 35m²).

- Sanitary facilities (showers and toilets). No electricity supply. Non-numbered pitches.

- Entrance ticket not included

Epinettes seems to have sold out on the ACO site now, just Arnage and BSJ left.

I got 4 tickets when they were still on sale, hopefully it's a decent location, and not the chav-fest that BSJ seems to be.

Anyone else staying there?

Yep, i will be on there too. Got the camp ticket before christmas.

Fed up of paying hyper inflated agency prices so will give this one a go. It was either this or BSJ, which really is a drag if your doing it a couple or three times a day which I did last time I was there (Dairon).

That was my logic too. Normally I hit eBay at the last minute, and last year got two HA passes at less than face value but it's always a bit risky and having done BSJ twice I don't fancy it again.

Just booked 4 pitches here, hope it's good. Wanted Houx but had no luck. I like being close to the tramway and village, also mad Friday antics.... smile

Epinettes is outside Houx with access from Chemin au Boeufs which is the Mad Friday road that runs from Antares tram roundabout. Look for MM Arena on Google Earth. Pretty good access to circuit through Houx over footbridge and up to the village.

Guys,

Am I right in saying I'd proceed as if I was camping at Houx/Houx Annexe and the entrance to the new site is somewhere around here?
