Anyone have any info, guidance or advice on the 2015 Le Mans test day on Sunday 31st May - the format, is it open to public (can find no info/tickets on ACO site) etc.

Will be around that area and seems a great opportunity for a close look at cars etc prior to the event two weeks later.

TIA

Roughly the same as in previous years ... 3 or 4 hour morning session and the same in the afternoon

Thanks, but having never been before, do they issue event times and the ticket situation - prebookable or purchase at the track ?

Just turn up and buy at the track. Free grandstands, free parking. Move around freely. The stag-night mentality is missing.

In general, I would say it is better than F1 testing as there are many more cars to watch.

If you have a GE ticket for the race week it is also valid for the test day.

Yes the GE ticket is valid for the test day but make sure that you get it scanned in and out when you are there, enjoyed it last year, headed down on saturday afternoon, got a cheap hotel for the saturday night and headed over to the track on Sunday morning, meet several french and continental mates there and had a good day, headed back after the end of qually and got a late tunnel home
