Suddenly three pictures have appeared showing how Duval (Lucky Boy) crashed during Wednesday's practice at Le Mans.Notice that the roof has been torn off in the third picture.

As it says on the tickets: "Motor racing is dangerous"

I'd say the roof is still on, the screen is off and looks to be being held there by wiring. We are looking at the inside of it and the lower edge is at the top. Is that some kind of display in the upper part of it where a rear-view mirror would be? Nestling below the front wing is the air intake that was on top of the roof.

Vorsprung durch notgoodtechnique....

looks like half the roof on the left as we look at it has gone, although the roof is not a roof but a door. Like to see how he lost it in the first place, there must be some on-board footage ?

It looks to be in the same place as the Peugeot crash a few years ago. I wonder if the CCTV camera visible in the photo above is the same one as filmed the peugeot accident?

He is a lucky lad, those cars are well built (understatement!). We spent a good few anxious minutes in the stands staring at the big screen when presented with the tv feed of what looked like a pile of rubble (and more or less was). Must have been awful for the pit crew waiting to hear from him.

Incidentally, the cause of the crash is in the first pic, a Ferrari! It's always a Ferrari, isn't it, McNish, Davidson, and recently Webber. I'm not suggesting anything, but..........

It's always a P1 car too. Takes two to tango.

Is this area on the ACO's list of places to improve the run-off?

We were at porsche curves and the bang was almighty. Not surprised. Lucky guy and a credit to safety standards again.

It is not that it is a Ferrari ! it is that it is a (much) slower car - been the same since for ever !!
