Just a reminder that we are at the Le Mans when the 60th anniversary for the disaster. Any suggestions what one could do ? (11th June 1955)

Visit the memorial plaque on the track. You should be able to see it from the pit wall.

Could you please tell the exact location of said plague? Been trying to give it a visit and pay my respects for several years now but to no avail.

If you are on the big grandstand ( the one overhanging the pit lane )

It is then straight across from you. on the fence separating the track from the other grandstands.

IIRC - about half way down the straight.
You are looking for a small black square.

It should take you about 5 minutes to find it - now you know what you are looking for.

If the track is open like it was last year - you may get to be right in front of it.

See the little black square on the fence with the white wall behind it ( Above France Blue advert) just before the ACO grandstand. That's what you are looking for.

Up close. Very simple plaque.

Thank you troubleatmill!

No wonder I couldn't find it, it's beyond pedestrian/spectator limits!

But... if they open the pit lane and track on the Friday. ( as they did last year )
You may be able to blag one of the marshals - to let you past for a couple of minutes wink

And of course - they do open the floodgates after the race for the presentations - if you fancy getting up close.

I might get that made up as a sticker for the car

God awful tragedy which we should rightly commemorate on this anniversary.

Back from LM2023 and managed to find it.

At the time I wasn't even looking for it, but during the presentation at the end we walked down between the two walls of the track and the spectators and saw the flowers.

Very nice to see that through the entire race, there was a bunch of white roses placed there.

Quite an emotional find
