Just booked my 2015 crossing with Eurotunnel. Was a few quid cheaper than 2013 with the same crossing times (out 07:50 Wednesday, return 17:50 Monday). Also used triple Tesco clubcard vouchers to get £75 off the total.

My crossings are always the same times and dates (Eurotunnel) and were more expensive like for like. And last time I checked, they had sold out shortly after I booked. I normally don't book until mid Feb, so glad I did.
Also, they are clever with their numberplate checking system, as my T5 Camper registration did not match the large 4x4 I put it down to, when comparing their VAN prices.

It's about 15% more expensive, but considering the Euro exchange rate right now, I expect I'll be saving a lot more on the food, beer and fuel :-)

Thanks for the offer code, its too late but never mind!

I have just checked my ferry prices again, with that code I could get fixed crossings for £58, semi flexible for £98. Without it it was £84 fixed, £124 semi-flexible.

At the time of my booking they were offering semi-flexible for the same price as fixed crossing times. Not sure I'll believe that marketing blurb in the future!

Anyway its P and O Dover Calais, out early Wednesday back Sunday night

If you timed it just right you could use the discount code and get the Flexi fare for the same price as Standard at the same time, so we paid £58 for Flexi fares.

Actually, just to rub it in a bit, P&O sent me a £10 off voucher code, for filling in an online passenger survey towards the back end of last year, so in reality I paid £48 for Flexi.

Top tip with P&O is always wait for the price to drop sometime around the end of the year beginning of the next, this year was a bit later than normal, I was beginning to think my strategy wasn't going to work.

Glad some people were able to use the code, see you on MB if Porsche have left us any!!!!

Same with the Eurotunnel:

2011 £90
2013 £94
2015 £152

Same days..out Friday back Monday
Same times
Roughly same time advanced booking...November

Looks like Eurotunnel may have got wised up now about the demand for the LM week

R.
Rog,

Are you going too?

Just booked the tunnel for £122, Out - Wed 07:50 Ret - Mon 09:50
Quite reasonable I thought given we're splitting 3 ways. It was a little more than the site first quoted but i'm no sailor and dislike boats.

If anyone still needs to book and uses Brittany Ferries you are welcime to use my frequent travellers membership number which will give you 10% discount as a guest of the member.
During the quote say "yes" to property owners/frequent travellera membership, say you are a guest, quote surname COLLINS and membership number F001QK.
It will show you the saving at the end.
Hope this us of some use to somebody.
You can also use the code in the future or for holidays etc.as I renew it every year.

I used First Tickets for P&O a few times and they were a lot cheaper than going direct. Have been DFDS and god they are awful compared to the new ships P&O have but we're way cheaper, P&O seem to have lost all the freight to them. Then again your not on there very long so it doesn't matter. Also on the way back with DFDS I noticed we were the only British people on the ship whereas P&O it seems to be the other way round. Are DFDS all ex Sea France?

I see "DFDS" and "Cabin" together, but I am sure you all know by now (or should do) that they no longer run a service neither to Caen nor Ouistreham. Their Spanish ferry service has also disappeared I note, so it does make you wonder. The same ferry to Ouistreham is now run by Brittany Ferries as an alternative no frills ferry, and I've used it a lot as both DFDS and Brittany. If you want to pay more get 30% off each of the fares from Portsmouth to Caen (not Ouistreham) by joining their membership club. I forget the absolute details, but I have already used it once, will again in June and then September. I reckon I'll have saved over £400 by the end of the year.

They never did run a service to Caen, or Ouistreham. The no frills service Brittany Ferries has taken over runs into Le Havre. DFDS still run a service into Dieppe, with cabins.

Slip of the keyboard I'm afraid. I meant Le Havre for the no-frills service, but thanks for pointing it out.

Somewhat delayed return to this thread. In reality it turned out that I had not actually booked the ferry for this year as the "confirmation" email I received was actually directly the opposite as had I read it I would have found there was a problem with my booking and it hadnt been processed!

So in the end I booked on Tuesday night for a Wednesday departure, whilst checking prices with options of P and O DFDS and Eurotunnel they all increased suddenly and at almost the same time. Had I been quicker I would have got a fixed price crossing for less than I thought I paid for a flexi. In the end I ended up on a fixed crossing ticket with P and O for £135, and it turned out it wasnt fixed as they put us on the earlier crossing on our return for no additional charge.

How come, on the first day of opening bookings for 2016, the Portsmouth/Le Havre crossing is already fully booked for the club seats on the return journey Monday?
