Restaurants in town

Going with the misses again this year as well as a bunch of mates so fancy doing our own thing one of the days early in the week. Anyone know of any decent restaurants in town at all? Cheers. (Only been going the past five years and still never gone into town properly)

Rue de la Vielle Porte in the old town area is a good place to start. Plenty down there for all tastes.

My fiancee & I went to La Mai Sonnettes on Rue des 3 Sonnettes in 2013 after the drivers parade.
It's quite a nice little place, good food & prices were pretty reasonable.

Second time for me and the wife and food was the only disappointment last year but we didn't really venture far...

Agreed. I've been there many times, but never during the race weekend. It's very popular, so I'd be surprised if you just walk in & get seated. But you book of course. The guy who runs it, now runs another restaurant that is literally at the back of it. It might even be the same building, but is in the square opposite the hotel de ville. Food just as good, but a very different interior to 7 Plats.

I may have to kill you for mentioning my favourite eating establishment.

I would recommend trying somewhere else to those looking to eat out in Le Mans.

Will certainly try the auberge we plan to eat out on the Tuesday for lunch so won't be as busy as later in the week I hope!
