Thanks to all for advice on parade laps

I couldn't find any obvious booking thing on the LMC website, except this form...

http://www.lemansclassic.com/wp-content/uploads/bu...

If I just fill that out for wanting a parade lap, do you think it'll work?!

Maybe, you never know! However having now checked the website for next year I fear you may well be right regarding car clubs only for parade laps, fingers crossed though.

Just a thought, I wonder if you filled out the form in French whether they'd be more accommodating wink

What car do you have? Better to be part of a club that will have in field parking.

It's a 997 GTS - so it's on the eligible list.

I've found out we will be able to book them through Pistonheads as 'we' are registered as a club this year with a display area.

Once I've got more details I'll share them on here.

I'm going to the classic for the first time this year with a pal, and we're taking the wives. We have found a hotel on the south side of Le Mans near the Gare sud but it doesn't have parking. I believe that there's an underground car park a couple of hundred meters away with cctv.

So a quick question for the experienced, where would be the best/safest place for us to park my 993 and my pals XKR? This underground carpark or in one of the circuit carparks. I'm guessing the best way to get to and from the hotel each day will be the trams so are we better off just parking up somewhere safe and leaving the cars there until Monday morning.

Thanks Mark, if it all falls through I will let you know.

Assuming you've done parade laps in the past, can you offer any advice on which day and best times to do it?

Cheers

I attended the race this year and my girlfriend stayed at a place next to the station. We parked the car (Z4 coupe) for the duration in the underground car park you are referring to and it was just fine. Travel to the circuit was straightforward using the 'Gare' tram station - took about 20 minutes to the circuit.

Thanks for the info pauly, however we have now had a change of plan and have managed to get 4 places, 2 rooms, in one of the Classic Car Tours Chateaux about 30km from the circuit.

Anyone else booked or previously attended with these guys?

Our tickets arrived from the ACO this morning, two weeks after being ordered direct with them.

You probably won't have a choice, we never have. I have done it a few times and it is a great experience. Thankfully I haven't been surrounded by muppets on track which has happened.

I highly recommend it though, great fun smile

anyone travelling down / return via Zeebrugge?

I'll be on the Hull ferry with my TVR S1

looking to leisurely drive down taking 7 or 8 hours and trying to keep off toll roads - just to see a little more of France

on which day will most of you make your journey to Le Mans classic? Maybe I could join from my way from The Netherlands.

We (2x TVR) will be leaving the Coquelles terminal approx. 8.00 am on the Thursday and will aim to avoid too much A road driving preferring to stick to N & D roads were possible.

Where is the list of eligible cars please? Would like to see if I can get on in a 991 GT3RS. Thanks.
