My favourite car of the years I've been going to Le Mans is back

Saw this on the main LM website. Also got the Group C beasts as well in support. Must make sure I'm capable of driving this year to see the support races. Last year I was in full recovery mode until about 2pm and missed it all.

The warm up lap, or flying lap? Hope they don't put too many miles on it during the practice session.

How do you know the Group C cars are there again this year, nothing on here to suggest that they are going to be there unfortunately

Sorry, my steam powered laptop had pulled up a programme from previous 24hr and I got all excited!! Seems they have the Aston festival thing and a Legends race for '49 - '68 motors so GT40's, 908's and such like, field of 61 cars. Unless of course I've found yet another old web page!!

Much prefer the older cars to Group C in terms of racing, they're invariably raced much harder while most of the group C cars are just cruising around.

Great news about Aston, I really want to hears that LMP1 scream again.

Totally agree.... just look at my display cabinet

Sorry about the Lotus but a good friend of mine ran the Jetalliance team for a number of years. I was also lucky enough to get AMR VIP hospitality (awesome) when a good friend of my travel partner drove for the Young Driver team (and later also the LMP1)

The Saubers have been racing hard in particular Bob Berridge hasn't been hanging around

That might be true, but the Group C cars seem to make a very small and spread-out field and I'm afraid haven't generated the spectacle I've hoped for in the past. Still great to see, don't get me wrong.

To be fair the Aston festival is more of a posh trackday than a race and could have the same criticism leveled at it, but I love the cars so much I just don't care.

Ah that's a shame, enjoyed seeing them last year.

Be good to see a field of '49 - '68 motors though!

Nice models everyone... I am in two minds of getting the #95 from 2013 though...

You can either focus on the great driver or the awful crash. Unfortunately the two are linked. frown

Always the great driver smile I got it as a tribute but also because I had the 97 aswell. The other 95 is the class winner from 2014 as it was my first year I wanted to collect all the class winners.

Just the #51 Ferrari left to get

Proper little gift for this year. Can't wait to hear that Lola Aston scream up the pit straight and belch flames into the left-hander before Dunlop Bridge :-)
